I'm in the middle of trying to replace my rmb with the ipp, 2 things are holding me back, how fast I can work with excel, (getting faster by the day) and one of the damn inventory management websites if have to use for work uses freaking flash..... Grrrrrrr

Have you tried puffin browser? I downloaded it the other day. It handles flash amazingly well. I was sceptical but them pleasantly surprised.

You needn't be upset.

By choice I have a large selection of the latest laptops tablets and smartphones on all the various current platforms. I enjoy having choices, variety, and remaining up to date.

I do realize that my case is far from the norm. Most people only need or care to buy a laptop or tablet or smartphone on a certain platform.

I'm going to comment and report on these as it applies to the topic at hand, you can't control my posts.

For you to pick apart and judge my posts, reveals that you may simply be insecure. A condition that can be cured :D

Youre past posts do seem suspicious.

Personally, I wouldn't go with (3), an untested option unless you are familiar with using it to replace your existing workflows. It is a work related trip after all, not exactly the best time or opportunity to "prove a point". You don't want to be caught with a file you can't readily access or edit or some other inconvenience.

I would still say to play safe.

I hear an iPad Pro, with Logitech keyboard s 3 lbs, similar to an MBA. Portability seems to have gone, so I'd opt for a real PC and not an iOS tablet. One you can do everything, the other, you may be able to do everything you need, maybe not.

Its a use case thing. iOS is restricted, thats a fact. You may be 100% fine with an IPP, you may find the occasional annoyance, or you may be crying with workarounds to get IPP over the line.

I frequently travel with an iPad only. Never had a problem.
Sweet. So this topic has been solved, just take an IPP and your sorted. I dont know why some posters insert their single use case as if that justifies the topic's solution. Hardly adds value.

A good test for the OP, or anyone for that matter, is to put the laptop away for a week or more, no exceptions. Even some stuff you can do isn't convenient using a soft keyboard covering the screen. No mouse, no trackpad.

I feel the IPP is too big, many are returning. Portability is little better once outfitted, than an MBA. So, take a real computer and just use it, rather than making yourself adapt to something that isn't ideal. Read/watch/play suits the iPad better

iPad pro all day long if you know it's capable regarding software limitations. If it's just normal word processing publications tasks then hey it's perfect and to top it off it's the perfect media device also.

Get the Photon browser. It will run flash great for most sites ^_^. Happy IPP'ing!

Skip the iPad Pro altogether if you don't need a giant sized iPad with compromises. You didn't really describe your needs but for business travel, if you are in the market for a new device, get the Retina Macbook. If you have to have a tablet, get it with an iPad Mini.

This has been my combination and I have traveled across the country for business managing multiple sales teams for the telecom/cable industry. For my needs, I need the full version of Outlook, Excel and occasionally Windows for sites that only work with Internet Explorer. The Macbook is powerful enough to run all of that, but at the same time, has a much smaller footprint than the iPad Pro. If you throw on that Logitech CREATE keyboard along with the iPad, it adds on more weight.

I had the iPad Pro for a few days and was frustrated in using it for work because of my requirements for a business device. However, my needs may be different than yours and everyone else's.

I think this is a great combination for business travel.

The choice should be based on your needs for the business trip .

Sounds like an iPhone plus would also work.

Hard to recommend since it's not clear what you need to do with your computer.

This thread represents one of the reasons why I returned my IPP.

Unlike the smaller and lighter iPad Air 2, the Pro doesn't serve well as a companion device—particularly when traveling. Instead, it must win the place of a laptop replacement. For me, and just for me, the current state of iOS 9, iWork, and other apps simply didn't allow for that to be the case. I'm hopeful Apple realizes this, and we see an iOS 10, full iWork suite, and changes to the App store in 2016 which make the iPad worthy of being a laptop replacement for most executives.
