I'm a 13 PM owner that didn't upgrade to the 14 PM. Why? Apple offered terrible trade in prices for devices that weren't base storage 13 PMs. Also, I left the iUP plan and paid for this with my Apple CC. Because of that, I'm determined to keep this phone for a very long time. May help that I'm getting a little older and hopefully a little smarter too.
I lucked out with this phone. 155 cycles and I'm still at 102.8% capacity.
The 6s was a great phone. We went from the 6s to the 8+. Great great phone. That phone got me through several years of heavy Ingress (game that was not easy on phones).
I don’t think that a random article about one person who has happened to have held onto a 6S for so long really proves anything about how significant or remembered that particular device wasWhat I find amusing with this is that the 6S was even brought up this year. Chris Evans even ditched his 6S only after having severe battery issues. An actor who could obviously easily afford any phone or upgrade. It was a great iPhone and as The Real Deal said it best: "it was what the 6 should've been".

Marvel Star Chris Evans Finally Ditches His iPhone 6s
Chris Evans is one of the most famous people in the world, but he’s still pretty darn relatable. Recently, the Captain America star made headlines for taking part in a puppy interview with Buzzfeed, and fans loved how much fun Evans was having with the doggos. This week, the actor became a hot...comicbook.com
You bring up the 6 specifically as honorable mention over the 6S.

A Design Defect Is Breaking a Ton of iPhone 6 Pluses
Microsolderer Jessa Jones can fix practically anything. But these days, she spends most of her time fixing just one thing. Because every single month, more and more iPhone 6 and (especially) 6 Plus…www.ifixit.com
Also the 6 was 3.3x more bendable than the 5S:

Internal documents reveal Apple knew the iPhone 6 was more likely to bend than previous models

So what? As I said on my previous post, some people prefer to be the first adopter of 'beta' release iphone, some prefer to get the final version. I pick iphone to impress me, not other people, thus I appreciate the -S version of the phone because it has fixed some of its issues. 4s, 6s, XS max, 13mini, 13 Pro Max. All are a better version than the previous release.I don’t think that a random article about one person who has happened to have held onto a 6S for so long really proves anything about how significant or remembered that particular device was
I feel like a lot of these 6S fanboys (on this forum, not irl of course) still haven’t got over the headphone jack being removed, even though it wasn’t a big deal even back in 2016. You can either use wireless earphones/AirPods or lightening EarPods (which is what I use)
Maybe people like you and the real deal might prefer the S models because of some notion that they are more reliable or whatever. But they are absolutely not more memorable as they lack new features and designs. The most memorable iPhones to most people will always be those with the new designs and/or introduce important new features, neither or which you can possibly say apply to the 6S
That’s why the releases such as the original, 4, 6, and X stand out the most, with the 5, 12 and 14 (Pros) to a slightly lesser extent. Not the 6S though lmao, not at all

I believe we are well past the era of yearly upgrades (unless you really must have the latest), the 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max, 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max are all fabulous devices if you are coming from much older iPhones like Xs Max and before. To be honest 14 pro max is a lame update. I work in a telco tech company so I had an opportunity to upgrade - but even the modest amount of money it would cost me was not worth it. My requirements were 1) 120hz (I’m very sensitive to lag) 2) Big screen 3) good battery life. For now 13 pro max is the perfect phone for me. Apple need to introduce something really special this year in order to make me upgrade next year. 13 pro max is truly perfect phone

Nothing wrong with that since it’ll be more opportunity for us who prefer to buy used and get the bargain.I think phones have got to a point where they are like cars in that you wouldn’t change your car every year, so why would you change a phone? I think you have to be really invested and enthusiastic about phones to want to spend a few hundred every 12 months in order to have the latest device.

I may be superficial but I think the 14 Pro colors stink, specifically purple. The various greens & blues Apple has offered since the 11 Pro have been great. I think purple was a big misfire.I feel like the 13PM is going to last a very long time, and the current stock issues with the 14PM are helping that even further.
I'm sure a lot of 13PM users that usually upgrade every year are sticking with their current phone this year simply because they can't get their hands on the newest model and then, once the cycle is broken, they'll end up keeping it for maybe another year or 2 on top of it.
I know more people that have bought 13PM since launch day than I know people who have bought any of the 14s!
It also doesn't help that the 13PM comes in some of the coolest colours I've seen on a smartphone (that Sierra Blue and Alpine Green are just beautiful even if I am partial to a silver myself.)
I completely agree, the purple isn't bad, it's just disappointing. Looking at my sister's Twilight Green 13PM or my friend's Sierra Blue 13Pro I can't help but feel at least a little bit jealous.I may be superficial but I think the 14 Pro colors stink, specifically purple.
