Is £680 pounds enough for a 32gb iphone 7 plus?

It's still 15% lower than it was this time last year so I can't see Apple keeping the same price as last year.

We will find out later this evening (here in UK time) :) if they introduce a 256GB version I wonder how much it will cost? Do you think the 7 Plus 256GB will top out at around £900 - £1000?

I really hope not. I want this model so much

It may not be cheap, especially if Apple decide not to keep the same pricing structure as last year. The 256GB option for the iPad Pro is £919 for the bigger 12.9" I'm not saying it will be the same for the iPhone 7 Plus, it may cheaper I don't know.

We often have to wait until the pre-orders go live before getting confirmation for our prices so it could be Friday before we know for sure. I'm hoping Apple will be careful with how much they load the iPhone price to accommodate the current low exchange rate because a massive rise combined with the evolutionary upgrades we are rumoured to be getting might put a lot of people off this year.

£1000 for a phone does sound ridiculous, so fingers crossed it doesn't go quite that high.

A £30 hike is very optimistic. I've seen 10% and 15% increases from some of our vendors.

It's currently $749. Add VAT @ 20% and a 10% buffer against further currency issues (Apple often has a 5-10% currency buffer on new pricing) and round up to the nearest 9, and you would get £739, sorry.

Without any currency buffer at all it would be £669, so my guess is £680 probably won't be quite enough. Depends how desperately Tim needs the sale.
if its more that £700 then that is ridicules
[doublepost=1473240473][/doublepost]if the iphone 7 plus is $799 we can expect the uk price to be £679

I don't think we'll see a UK increase in price unless the USA see's an increase as well. The economy hasn't gone down enough to warrant Apple changing prices, prices across all products would see an increase not just iPhones. It's very rare for Apple to suddenly increase the prices, only Russia comes to mind of where it happened. The UK Economy is expected to stabilise more until we actually leave the EU which isn't for a long time yet.

It absolutely has "gone down enough" and they wouldn't be "suddenly increased", they would be adjusted at refresh time, as they always are.

The 16GB iPhone 6S is currently sold at £539 which works out at $600 at today's exchange rate without the VAT. The same phone sells for $649 in the US so Apple will not want to lose a minimum of $50 on every new iPhone they sell in the UK.

Nope, $799 plus VAT is £717. Apple will add at least 5% IMO, giving a price around £749. If they choose to add 10% to cover any further slumps in the UKP then it'll be $789

That price was set earlier this year before the Pound slumped.

The Apple Store is down now and we could see some across the board increases when it comes back later this evening.

Maybe, but the last time we played this game using the same process I came in cheaper than Apple. Here's a post guessing at the iPad Pro pricing using a 5% currency buffer.

Guessing at a 5% increase the Pro would be £659, £779 and £889 incl. VAT

(All this using the exchange rate from Google today $1 = £0.65)

Here are the real prices when it launched...

£679 32GB WiFi
£799 128GB WiFi
£899 128GB WiFi + Cellular

It's not down to the likes of Russian etc where they had to take drastic action. The point is it's not as far down as it has been recently.
It would be nice if Apple keep the prices the same considering UK customers have been paying more than the USA customers for years.

this comment is so right, couldn't agree more

£789 for a 32GB iPhone 7 plus?

Do you doubt Apple would price an item 10% higher in the UK? Given what's going on...

Edit: this is based in a US price of $799 which I think somebody introduced upthread. I've no idea whether that's right or wrong.

Yes it will be enough. Chances are it'll be similarly priced to all th years before, so you'll be looking at 619-629 for the lowest capacity plus variant. Worst case, even IF they hike the price because of the pound, the 7 won't be more than 569, so the plus will land at 639 tops. For the last 2 years the plus has been £619 for the 16GB model, £699 for the 64GB model and £789 for the 128GB model.

Sorry to break the news but Apple do make adjustments to their prices to allow for fluctuating exchange rates.
