70% faster in anything sounds a big deal to me

I would say the speed is likely noticed with start up times, updating software, and usage of third-party applications. That's more likely most will notice the speed, or even navigating through the Apple Watch as well. But I think Siri will also be a big part of using the speed with responsiveness

Nope! Still using an S0 and it's still ok. Third party apps suck but the actual built apps are super quick!

I have a series 2 Watch and upgraded from 0 last year. I feel no need to upgrade. If I cared for LTE I would but I don’t need or want it on my watch for now.

In terms of how fast it will be - yes series 3 will be faster. Significantly? Maybe but do you find your series 2 sluggish? I don’t but if you do that’s your answer.

Unlike a phone where a little lag is manageable, the same is not true for smartwatches since the latter is really designed for rapid glances and uses.

I hate staring at my apple watch like an idiot while waiting for an app to load, even if the wait is just a second or two.

I came here to say this. Yeah the s0 is almost useless for anything but its passive functions. try loading more than a few apps and it chugs.
What apps do you use? Perhaps its because I have an S0 but I don't use any apps. I'm trying to justify the expense of the S3, but I use my AW for workouts, notifications and what not.

pretty much anything 3rd party. banking, uber, line etc

Was trying to find full specs on all 4 iterations of the watch on one page.
The S0 > S3 is 3 generations newer, hopefully it's a worthy upgrade and an OS upgrade comes out to address the cellular/wifi issues.

Hopefully we'll get a speed comparison today.

Also curious if those claims of new W chip mean better battery life.

I just got a S3 (coming from S2) and the speed is noticeable. Even apps seem to launch faster (Maybe from the improved wireless radios?)

On my S2 the watch lagged a lot with raise to wake. On my S3 it is instant like the other faces again.

I found the Series 2 to be too slow when using Siri. Much too long of a lag between the command and the action. The Series 3 is much snappier.

I also agree that raise to wake is quicker. And holy crap! Loading apps is lightning quick!
