Hard to say, but after 6 months my AW7’s battery health is still at 100%. With AOD on I’m typically at around 45-50% by 7pm after cca. 12h use. Btw, usually I take it off the charger around 10-11pm the previous night and just let it stay on my night stand before putting it on my wrist in the morning, so basically that’s almost 1 whole day off the charger.

It certainly sounds like it may be sorted then. Mine had lost about 6% health by the 6 month mark. I do charge overnight though as that suits my routine. The battery is supposed to stop charging once full so that shouldn’t make any difference. When I get a series 8 i’ll be monitoring this again.

I try to charge it every day towards the end of the day so the battery % never really drops below 30%. Maybe that could contribute to the battery longevity as well…

I make it through the day with always on (series 7, 45) but I'm usually at 20%. with it off I have tons of battery left. I FIND IT VERY VERY USEFUL to have the screen on, but I also have the knowledge that if I'm running short etc. I can turn it off and that will get me through a tough day. I have no doubt in a few years (or this fall with the Pro/Rugged/whatever watch) none of this will be an issue but at least there is a fix sorta.

I don’t find a lot of value in always-on for my use case. I’ve never had an issue with the raise to wake function. It’s neat to glance down and see something on the display, but it doesn’t really add anything for me, especially when I’m wearing a long sleeve shirt.

I mainly leave it off on my current watch, although occasionally I’ll flip it back on just to see if I feel any different about it. So far, I prefer the extra few percentages of battery saved over a glanceable display.

I have a Venue 2 (Garmin) and an AW3. The Venue allows for the screen on and lasts about 4 days with it on, and about 11 days with it off, its wrist-on activation is as good as on AW3. Always on is a boon, nice to have for sure, I'd always opt for it as its hands down more convenient day to day. Yet, given how wrist activation is 90% of the time correct, not a deal breaker for me. I get annoyed with both of them when I have to charge them. Yet, the day-to-day functionality of AW3 makes me wish they had a longer-lasting batt in it.
