Is anyone else tired of having to hear people whine about iOS 6?

Apple is getting mainstream, and the peanut gallery just want to be different for the sake of it.

This forum has turned into a circlejerk of people whining about every little thing about iOS (it's supposed to be the other way around). It's starting to drive me crazy. There can't be a post about anything iOS related without people whinging about maps, or skeuomorphism, or a particular color they don't like for an icon. We get it--people don't like maps--can we please stop talking about it now?
I joined this forum to have constructive conversations with like-minded people and it is slowly becoming annoying to even read the comments. Or is it just me?

Believe it or not, people actually have legitimate complaints about iOS6.
If you want a rosy forum without any criticism at all, I suggest you head over to the official Apple forums.
What really annoys me is how people idolize Steve and Ive. How Steve would have never done this and that, yet history shows that he has, in fact, done this and that. How somehow Ive is going to make everyones' iOS and/or OS X wish-list a reality.
Another thing is how most people here seem to either LOVE or HATE Apple. Very few threads here (that I've seen) have an unbiased and educated discussion. They're either to critical or to cult-ish.
Anyhow, to answer your question: Yes. It's not really the whining though; It's the constant creation of threads that already exist.

I wasn't *****ing about iOS ... as I've said before I used iPhone for 4.5 years and thought it was great. Android wasn't nearly up to par in my book. Then they fixed things up very nicely with the latest versions of Android and started making hardware that is far superior for my needs along the lines of a portable computer vs just a smartphone, so I jumped ship and haven't looked back. I went and bought an iPhone 5 for my Mom and as un-tech savvy as she is, having used the iPhone 3GS as her main phone since she got it several years ago, even she was disappointed at how it's "not that different" than her old iPhone with an older version of iOS.
While some of you may then argue that they shouldn't make it different, I disagree strongly about that in iOS. There's a reason why many users on this forum have switched to Android after the iPhone 5 came out. The truth is, for people who haven't given it a try they have no idea how liberating it is to not be forced into what definitely feels like an underdeveloped operating system in aspects. The apps are great but Apple is still lacking basic functionality like quick settings, useful homescreen widgets instead of having to launch apps for everything, custom and swipe keyboards, Adobe Flash (despite what anyone says it's nice to have), a file system, split screen multitasking (not really possible on the iPhone due to screen size), and popup browser and popup video which are so useful for multitasking as well. Hey, I know these features aren't for everybody, glad iOS is working for you.
Fine your opinions about iOS and Android are valid but why did you post a comment stating how you think Android is better than iOS on a thread that is about how annoying these comments have become?

I love apple products, but ios6 has been **** (in my opinion). Maps was an incredible cluster****. I mean really, awful. I get that it worked ok in places, but it was an absolute piece of crap where I live. So yeah, I'm going to mention it. What's the value of pretending things are great of they're not.
Some guy with RIM probably just jumped off a cliff when he read that with no mention of Blackberry. Remember when that was a thing?
Software shouldn't change too much or it loses its identity and simplicity.
I'm happy with iOS. Maybe a few new features would be nice but I wouldn't want the UI to drastically change.
I'm frustrated because after advocating iOS for so many years, on the basis of it being technically ahead of everything else, Apple has now let me down. They have let me down by being satisfied by maintaining the status quo and pandering to the lowest common denominator, forgetting people like me (and many others on these fora) who had confidence in them when they were not the coolest kids on the block and Nokia N95 was the phone to be seen with.

People will complain about you complaining about others complaining about iOS6 or Apple in general . Moan moan moan .
Talking about problems and trying to find solution in an unbiased or educated way or without slamming Apple is long gone
Some of the "Absolute anti-Apple statements" made on this forum, would lead you to believe that Apple will probably be shutting down within a year or two - they are so bad .
If your thread is not locked down in trash by the moderators soon, then you will be getting plenty of whinging about your post over the next few days . So happy reading ...

Uncritical commentary doesn't help iOS get better or Apple in the end. If your focus isn't on the things that don't work properly and how to make them better than your focus is in the wrong place.
That's fine, but does every thread have to become that?
This one has a very clear topic and even clearer opening post. There can be no doubt what the OP was trying to do. Nonetheless you have tried to turn this into one of the other God knows how many threads on your chosen topic.
EDIT: Coming back to this, and going off topic and following your branch, it's about looking at it from the right perspective.
Apple is never going to throw all these extra bits of UI into iOS. It just isn't going to happen, because it's missing the point. They do not want to "solve" problems by just making it more configurable, that's not what iDevices are about.
You shouldn't have to change settings all the time - there are no quick settings. Launching an app shouldn't be easier/quicker/a lesser experience than swiping to a widget - there are no widgets. You shouldn't need a custom keyboard - there are no custom keyboards. You shouldn't need to access the file system - you can't. And so it goes on.
This is what really gets me. If people took the time to think about the "problems" that they think they have with iOS and considered why things are the way they are, they might begin to understand, and appreciate the strengths of the OS instead of focusing on (their perceived) weaknesses. If you still don't like it, fine, but just flailing around going "OMFG APPLE SUCKS WHY DOESN'T MY IPHONE DO ALL THESE THINGS ANDROID DOES?!?!?!?!" is ridiculous, and that's what this forum seems to be full of.

All that really matters in the end is the Apps.
and apple is still winning there.
Took me weeks to decide which OS to update to from a 3gs. Then i suddenly realized I didn't know if Winphone8 or Andriod had all the Medical Apps i needed. Winphone8 was instantly a no go, and IOS is still better than Andriod for medical purposes...
made the decision easy after that.
Ha. I had a Blackberry once. Its only redeeming quality was that it was free. Otherwise it was a clunky and annoying OS. Also had a Symbian-based Nokia smartphone... I do miss Symbo sometimes. It made me think of OS 9.
I have a friend at work who got a new BlackBerry a few years ago. It broke, and now she has an iPhone. I'm guessing the devices were neat in the early 2000s, but the OS never kept up once iOS came out.
No one's ever the only on any topic. If it bothers you then be careful selecting the threads you read. The whining threads are usually pretty evident to me in the thread lists. I don't care for it either but I just avoid such threads. I still run into whining posts but skip them once they're spotted. People will always whine and whining about the whining won't eliminate it.
^ This. Worry over what you have control over. If you constantly blame others for being bothered by stuff then you'll always have problems.
I like to fight fire with fire. I think that if we get enough people whining about the whining then we will finally start having people whine about the people whining about the whining. Trust me--my logic is flawless. I audited a critical thinking class once.

This "New" Apple, with Tim Cook, seems to do one thing that the "Old", Steve Jobs, Apple didn't do and that is: Listen.
It's seems like lately if there is anything wrong with system(s) people complain immediately on the inter webs and Apple RUSHES and I mean RUSHES out and tries to fix it with patches, updates, firings, etc. That pisses me off. Cause the old Apple would wait until the Appropriate time and fix things on their schedule. It's like they're in panic mode and worry Apple will crumble or something.
There are so many updates now, after 5% or less iPhone/Mac Users, start whining about something. Didn't used to be like this.
You could say it's good, cause you get response, but get things right when you do them the first time. That iTunes update was quick... 11.0.0 to 11.0.1? I mean someone is going to say, I just want them to do "This" with iTunes and the blam 11.0.2 ugh

So, if people have problems, and Apple have fixes for those problems, you'd rather they held them back just so they didn't look rushed?
