A8 doesn't make sense. If so, they would have released it this Fall. Why wait if the 6s would be one step ahead?

There's no way Apple is going to give the budget iPhone the current flagship specs, come on now, be realistic.
Having an A8 isn't out of the question. The 6s is the flagship while the 6c or whatever they call it will be likely be cheaper, and therefore shouldn't be expected to have the same internals. Even the iPad Mini 4 that came out along side the iPhone 6s has an A8. It's still a notable step up from it's iPad mini predecessors, just as an iPhone 6c with an A8 and 2GB of RAM would be a step up from its 4" predecessors. Basically, this may be the iPad Mini of iPhones. Those who are expecting the internals of an iPhone 6s in a 4" form factor will probably be disappointed.
I am so ready for a smaller iPhone. The 6C will be the reason I sell my 6+ and go to T mobile for unlimited data.

That's a good point. If it's released until the Fall though, I don't see them using an A8, since it would be two generations behind at that point for a "new" phone.
A10 processor is only a few months away when the 6c is released (?) so the A9 would be good possibility
2.2 12 MP camera also a good possibility for same reason above. Apple will improve the current one that will be a step up
2 GB of ram is possible, but more iffy
Slightly larger battery almost a given. Not hard to do, but it will still be behind the current models.

Depends on the pricing...it doesn't seem likely to have the A9 chip if the phone is priced significantly less.

4 inchers are stuck in the past, there is no need for a 4 inch phone.
4 inchers getting excited about 2gb of ram and extra battery haha, 6s plus has had 2gb of ram for months, and a large capacity battery

I agree, I doubt it will have the same specs as the 6S but should have the same specs as the 6. If the new 4" 6C or whatever they call it does come out it will have the A8 for sure. It could even get the A9 but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I have no interest in a 4" phone myself, but what do you have against people who do? There's no need for a 4" phone? Why do you get to decide that? Clearly there are people who want one.
1.. Many people want smaller for a reason. And they will continue to want a smaller iPhone. No, we are not stuck in the past. Immature post.
2.. 2 GB on a smaller screen will make it smoother than ever. Of course we know of the 2 GB on the larger phone. Silly you
3.. Slightly larger battery will give it better battery life than ever. Win, win situation for those that want the 4 inch.
4.. Easier to carry and use with one hand if necessary.
5.. Nice style of the 5S
6.. Not to mention the lower cost for those that don't want to spend as much.

But then when the bigger phone came out you bought that. Everyone just wants the option of buying the phone that they want rather than settling for the closest thing. What's so hard to understand about that? As I said above, a 4" display isn't for me, but I do understand that the extra .7" does make one handed use more difficult. A person with average sized or smaller hands can't reach every icon on a 6/6s with a one-handed grip without using the double-touch to drag down the screen.
I bought a 6S which I will keep for two years but if there is a 4 inch phone available in 2017 when I'm eligible again with decent specs, I may get that instead it.
The 6s isn't 100% reachable with one-handed use.
It may be only .7" but when you are talking screen size on a phone it makes a big difference. And if .7" is not a big difference then why didn't you just stay with the 4" instead of buying the bigger phone. The difference between a 4.7" to a 5.5" is only .8" as well. But look at the same difference between the two.
Both are wrong. Multiple reliable sources claiming that the camera will be the exact same lens from the 5S and keeping 8MP rather than 12MP. Also, the water proofing rumors lead to the 7, not the 6c.
