I refuse to buy the touch just yet, cuz i know as soon as i do, they will come out with the camera one and thats the one i really want, though i love my ipod classic, the touch would be a fun little toy

iPod touch Is anyone else waiting to see what happens on October 15th?

The world does not revolve around the american mm/dd/yy... i'm guessing more people use dd/mm/yy than the other way. It actually makes more sense, you drill down with it... just doesn't "look right"

Ive never had an ipod. This will be my first one, i just wanna say to all those waiters out there.
Have fun waiting a year for the camera. While ive prolly enjoyed my 3G touch for a year.
And when the camera is launched there will prolly be some bugs, and you might want still pictures if it doesnt take stills. And you wait 1 year more for it. By then ive enjoyed mine for 2 years. By then mine is prolly outdated and i will upgrade to the new with video recording and still pictures. :|

You cant use touch as a phone anyway, so you will be carrying around a cell with you anyway, where camera is pretty much standard.
With bluetooth file transfering (apple, enable please?) you can just transfer the movie/picture from cell to touch and upload on whatever.com

eh i'll hold off more prob until around the 15 after that i'm buying. I've been browsing the app store for apps almost everyday.

really? people actually think that they will update 1 month after 3g came out? why would the do that? it would be stupid. now since they left a camera sized space in the 3g, im thinking that there will come a piont ,maybe next spring maybe not, that apple will put a camera in your ipod touch for a couple hundred dollars or so. anyone else thinking what im thinkin?
I want to get a Touch (my first one) before the end of the year.
And I would like it to have a camera in it, but even without I will get one.

You should be pissed if the camera didn't come out on 10/15/09...all that waiting...you could've already been touching an Ipod Touch for 3 weeks.
LAWL. I have the same idea! Mass people are buying the 2gs right now...even at a ridiculous amount...I saw a 32gb 2nd Gen Ipod Touch go for....$250/$300...I'm thinking, just add $30 more and you could've been playing with a BRAND NEW one instead of a used one!

Right. And these things hold their value if they're the current generation. Buy a 3G now, and keep it in good condition, and I'll bet you could sell it on eBay on Sep. 1st for $250. Seeing as I bought mine for $280, using it for a year for just $30 is a great deal.
I am not saying I would wait until Apple put a camera on the touch. I am just very curious about the product Bestbuy/Walmart are selling/will be selling after October 15th. Funny thing is, I have already purchased the Invisible shield and kept it for almost 6 months now. I'm almost at the threshold level to buy the touch this weekend

Yeah, it definitely is. Esp. since I came to Macrumors, I've learned a lot more things about
than I have in the past. Some dates, what to get and what not to get, etc. I would not mind paying $30-50 to cover for a new Ipod Touch. I had to make the same decision as you and I chose not to wait. Why?
Costco has a 90 day return policy. Buy one now and if Apple does release one in October (which is unlikely) you can return it and buy the one with camera.
However, one advantage to waiting till October to purchase is that Apple holds an event at beginning of January and if you purchase an iPod at Costco sometime in October, the 90 day policy ends at beginning of January, giving you just enough time to return your iPod if a new one is released in January.
So yeah, Costco's return policy made up my decision since other stores like Walmart only offer a 15 day return policy.

So i should switch them over to the 300 mhz Cerleon (sp?) Sony running ME? That is better? Because, it's either the eMac or that.
Pretty sure my touchy-feely-sensory-seeking 5 year old is safer with a CRT than an LCD. However, since you care so much about the kids... they have switched to the Mini for most of their stuff.
All that aside, i'm NOT male. The male in the house hates computers and would prefer them to not use ANYTHING... which is actually a named issue in the divorce proceedings.

Lol. I think MANY people that are debating are those that DON'T have an Ipod Touch. That's just my assumption...I got one off Amazon and I can't wait until it gets here. ^_^
ahaha i know the feeling my friends have an ipod touch 2G and i sold mine and thought that the new ipod touch will have a camera but didnt i also saw those case's at best buy. I have one in my hand right now so i am hoping for the ipod touch with a camera on the 15th too If there isnt one i might get a nano instead.
If there isnt one i might get a nano instead.this reminds me of how the macbook unibody was released and didnt have a firewire port and people stopped buy it, then like 2 months later apple stops selling them!!!!! and gets the new 13inch macbook pro with a firewire port for almost the same price. So why cant this happened with the ipod touch?? Well i think there will be something coming soon or else im not buying it.
