I'm going from 2g to 4 as well. And I am just blown away with how much better this phone is. Hell, my boyfriend had a 3G (I upgraded him today too), and when we needed to look things up I either used his phone or made him do it. I couldn't stand trying to get anything done on EDGE.

I am glad that I kept my unlimited plan. I think I'll be needing it now!

exactly what i was thinking...if you owned a 3gs you would see how fast it already is.

Did you happen to read the title of this post?

"Is anyone else who upgraded from the 3G...."

Obviously those of us who had a 3GS aren't going to be blown away by the speed but going from a 3G to iPhone 4 is a huge difference

Honestly, this is the whole reason I skipped the 3GS. I tried it, and felt that I wouldn't feel happy with spending the money at the time...now, I am THRILLED. Daily frustrations are gone...I can text with ZERO lag!!

Even compared to the 3GS, the 4 is a big improvement. Navigon runs so smooth on it, there is no lag.

OMG yes,

Simply amazing compared to my 3G. It gives my iPad a run for it's money and I couldn't believe how fast it was! Great upgrade for anyone who is getting frustrated with the speed of their iPhone 3G.

The 3G was the most infuriating thing to deal with for the last few months. It seemed that it was slowly dying. Yes, going from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4 is a major leap. However, I am very picky and I notice little things here and there. I do not think the iPhone 4 is that incredibly fast. Yes, it is snappy, but once you start to multitask I think, and this is my sole opinion, you can notice a slight delay in certain function. For example, try accessing settings for the first time. Then try it again. The second time it may be faster than the first time just because the app or function is already running in the background. I also have this belief that iOS4 slows down the 3G, 3Gs and 4. So, maybe Apple will make the updates more efficient? Also, I'd bet that this processor is not working at the maximum speed it can in order to conserve battery. I think they said this about the iPad as well.
