This was from today on my phone. Is anyone else getting any better? I'd like to know what your settings are.

    Ahem.

Full Brightness, 3G on, Wi-Fi on.

    Usage- 2 hours, 53 minutes
    Standby- 1 Day, 11 Hours

Battery Percentage- On and right now at 29%.

    Beat it.

    Beat what?

He got 9 hours of usage and you got barely 3.

You might need to have yours looked at.

    Well, I don't know
    What's more:

7 hours of usage, or 13 hours of standby?

Actually, it's not incredible. It's completely meaningless without knowing what the actual usage is. If that's 9 hours of iPod (music) than it is not impressive at all. If it's 9 hours of games, web browsing and video then, yes, it's amazing.

People keep posting, over and over and over, screenshots of their usage asking "is this good?" without giving us any indication of what they've been doing in that time.

So, to answer the OP's original question: I have absolutely no idea if this time is good or not. And no one else does either.

Depends on the usage really. An active BT connection registers as usage.

It's easy to get great standby time if you don't use it. Good usage time is more important.

I would have to agree that that's pretty incredible considering Apple's own specs for the phone state that is should only get around 5 hours of internet usage on 3G. Can you please provide more information about your actual usage of your iPhone? i.e., Do you use the 3G internet connection a lot? If so, what percentage of that usage would be from internet usage? Do you use bluetooth on you iPhone? etc.

    Good Point, more specifics...

I STREAMED podcasts over 3g up till that point at work (8am -12pm)...played the Flight Control game and scored an 83 (my highest now). Surfed internet sporadically since the previous day, most standby came while asleep. NO ipod music was played at all.

3G on; Wifi off; location services off, Bluetooth off, brightness about 25%. Anything else i should mention?

    Well,for one it's not BS.
He said "Is anyone getting better battery life than this?".

I posted my stats. And my usage didn't involve more than a minute of bluetooth or iPod playing music.

I honestly don't know whose is better, mine or the OPs. I posted.

I don't see how that is possible on a phone rated for 5 hours of 3G surf time.

You say you streamed for 4 hours and played Flight Control once?

Where did the other 4-5 hours of usage come from?

The other 4+ hours came from the previous night. I don't remember exactly what i did, i was home and was not streaming anything, but i remember surfing, texting, playing games, checking email. Testing my gps and trying to figure out why it was off by like 20+ feet, so location services was on for like 15 mins. And i guess other random stuff...

edit^ I only "opened" the flight control game once but played multiple times.

    Internet use:
    Up to 5 hours on 3G;

That is from Apple's web site.

So, if you are being truthful, then your battery is either at or exceeding what the web site says.

I truly find it hard to believe.

But if you are being truthful, then you are lucky.
I seriously think you are lying.

His stats are right at, or exceed Apple's standards if he is being truthful.

And you are trying to tell us yours is even better than THAT?

    Sorry. I call BS.

You guys do know that's it's entirley possible he charged it in there to get those numbers...the usage screen shows data since last FULL charge...so unless he put the phone in airplane mode and just let it sit there with the screen on, I'm pretty positive he charged it somewhere between, just not to 95-100%
