I did not charge it in between once to get that result...I can't prove it to you but I swear on mothers life ( not that it means much since we don't know each other)

I believe you. If you did plug it in, it would have shown.

What have you done to condition it?

Well the first couple days i let the battery run down to 2% before i charged it. I would NOT remove it until it was completely done. I wouldn't let it come near a charger until it was almost dead.

Then a few days ago i would charge it when it got down to 90% a couple of times. Then recently i heard its also best to keep it on the charger up to an hour after its reached 100%, so I've done that once.

All this is guess work mind you...i don't think anyone has a definitive method for conditioning....but mine seems to be working well.

I can't help thinking of that scene in My Cousin Vinny, where Joe Pesci is cross examining the witness who apparently is claiming that grits cook faster on his stove than in any other spot on the planet, and Joe asks if perhaps he has magic grits. :)

Usage and Standby times are Zero

I wanted to see how long I could go between charges since the battery life is not that great. I managed to go 2 full days with moderate use. The phone died this morning. Before it died, the usage and standby times both said zero. I charged it completely this morning and the usage and standby times still say zero. Does anyone know why this may be? Thanks

I have always gotten the same battery life out of every iPhone since the beginning.

I keep everything on, 3G, wifi, location services, push email/contacts/calendar and notifications on. The only thing I have off is bluetooth.

That seems like normal to me. I usually get 1.5 days standby with about 6-9 hours usage depending on what I use it for.

I've been pretty happy with my battery. Below are my stats with WiFi, Location Services & 3G all on but BT off. Auto brightness at 45%.

Used the device for email fetching/sending, web browsing, App store downloads, iPod use, Youtube use, misc apps use, few minutes of calls and about 20 texts per day. No GPS/Maps use though nor gaming as far as i can remember, then again maybe i used it briefly and have forgotten but unlikely. Hadn't charged it for two days.

please forgive me beforehand for the skepticism, but you only received 424 kb of data, were you seriously on wifi pretty much ALL day for all email, web browsing and app store downloads? Unless you were within 20 feet of your house all day and have wifi all day I'd find those numbers to be slightly strange.

After nearly 2 years with my original 2G, I'm going to take it in next week and get the battery swapped or maybe a new device. I know he was using a 3Gs, but I still love the battery life in my phone.

I live/school in london which is pretty much blanketed with hi-speed Wi-Fi mostly thanks to BT Openzone & occasionally The Cloud.

My school/house also have Wi-Fi so it's pretty much 95% coverage and rarely have to rely on 3G

I understand your skeptism but i'm just stating it like it was *shrug*
