Apps Is Apple Maps really the only *map* I can use on my watch?

Apple's map is horribly slow, even on S2 paired with a 6S, and by some insane reasoning it needs to run in parallel with the phone, demolishing battery lives of two devices at once.

Are there other *maps* I can use when I'm on a bike, wearing gloves, and I have about 3 seconds to know where to go? I don't mind taps, but cities are not only left and right turns.

Crazy. Just realized it could do more than home/work. Stupid 3D Touch...

It doesn't have a map though, just turn-by-turn directions.
