The reason why I pay the premium for Apple products:

The last one I owned for 46 months, not a single problem other than things I broke or my dog chewed on.

Show me a bargain PC laptop from nearly 4 years ago, and see what kind of condition its in.

Mac's are a luxury to a user like myself. I always plan on owning a current-Windows machine for other purposes, but if I'm at home doing casual stuff I want to be using a Mac. It's just more "fun" feeling.

I am so tired of using/needing multiple machines. I just stick to my MBP. It does everything PC's can do, plus much more.

Just imagine OS X costs 500 dollars. Then the hardware prices are extremely reasonable.

There's 100s of bigger rip-offs in life than a MBP eg. branded clothing, insurance, bottled water, travel fares, taxes, concert tickets, restaurants, holidays, alcohol in bars, mobile phones (and contracts) and other gadgets, pay TV, anything on hire purchase... the list goes on and on, however we still buy them (and enjoy them) don't we? But NO, NO, NO! Let's pick on the MBP! I never see anyone at various ticket offices causing a scene over prices, nor do people go into restaurants simply to do likewise. So to all the whiners, GET A GRIP and GET A LIFE! If you don't like the prices, then walk away and shop elsewhere... just like everything else. Its simple!

As far as the MBP is concerned, for me the values are in the intangibles. I'm more productive on my MBP, and I enjoy using it far more than my previous Windows unit. End of.
