If you are paying $250 (subsidized) for 4 lines (3 smart and one flip with mobile share plus one iPad for 6gb

You should seriously consider the $100 10gb mobile share plus $15/line (no subsidy) plans.

$100 x 4 lines equals $160 plus $10 for iPad. So $170. Plus taxes minus 25% discount off the $100/10gb. So $75 plus $60 plus $10. So $140 plus taxes. Comes out to around $160 total for your plan. That's with no subsidy.

Considering the subsidy is worth around $18.75-20 a month max. It may be worth it to switch (if you didn't sign any new contracts prior to Feb 2014 cut off date.

My brother upgraded in September, so that's a no go for us. I'm still in contract through this coming January as well, and I'm not sure when my dad's 4S goes off (it might be already, but he didn't upgrade at launch). Plus my parents would probably say that we don't need 10gb when 6gb is enough. My mom uses her iPad mostly on wifi at home, and I try to use wifi at home and school. I'd hope my dad and brother do too.

We switched to a share everything from the old style nationwide family plan in 2012 before they offered the discounts for getting more data. The store rep suggested 6gb based on three 3G phones and adding the iPad 4th gen. I'm the only one with an LTE iPhone 5, and of course I went over the first few months before I started using wifi. But they expected me to use less data instead of paying for more. I don't pay for it, so I don't argue.

I Use straight talk. $45 unlimited. I've been using them for maybe 6 months now.

I have wifi at home and work. Really other than streaming music or movies on the go, which I rarely do. I have no need for a ton of mobile data.

have you had any issues with the random throttling I still see being reported by users? I know they state 3GB now before throttling but it still seems like the 100MB/day rule is somewhat enforced from what I read online. I've truly considered ST now that 3GB is stated and you get the speeds/coverage of postpaid (for the most part)... at least more than what Cricket/AIO gives you.

Att is letting switch to next (no contract plans) even if they are under contract. So even though your brother upgrade last September 2013 it's before the Feb 2nd 2014 cutoff date. You can move your family over to the 10gb plan.

It's a no brainer. You will get more data and pay the same or less. You have absolutely nothing to lose in your situation. Even when you factor in the subsidy you lose.

I also see u are a fellow KU alumni! Me too CLAS and SOM.

We're on Verizon, not AT&T. I don't know that their policies are with Edge, but I'm sure they'd rather have contract customers lol.

I was SOEd and CLAS before transferring last semester. Still cheer for the hawks though :)

Look into your employer or your mom's employer whether you qualify for any business discounts with ATT.

T-mobile got rid of almost all business discounts except for government discounts in April 2014 I believe.

We get 24% ATT discount.

Tmobile did notget rid of business discounts. They now require paystubs to be uploaded to their website essentially prohibiting their sales people from adding discounts in stores to prevent a wide spread abuse of those discounts. The only exception to tha requirement are military personnel who can upload thei military ID instead of a paystub.

I haven't had any issues with throttling. I've used more than 100MB on several occasions. I haven't really gone over over 1.5-2GB for the month though.

Since I have wifi in the places I'm usually at. My usage might be 250MB one day, then 30MB or less each of the other days in the week. Generally, I'm on the lower usage end so those who use data more heavily may have different experiences.

As far as signal, call quality and data speeds. It's comparable to what I had on AT&T. My thing was.

Thanks for reporting back. That's good to hear about daily usage patterns.
