Depends on the circumstance. When I had my previous job duty I had access to wifi pretty much anytime I needed it.

Now I don't. I can't drive around looking for a wifi spot because of the area I'm supposed to be stationed in doesn't have it. I can't drive around outside the boundaries to find a wifi spot. So I'm not lazy. I'm doing to the exact same applications as before except I was on wifi before and now I can't be on wifi. Believe I wish I could be on wifi so I won't get throttled. I wasn't on wifi previously because of the fear of being throttled, I was on wifi because of being a responsible data user.

It is still not fair for a user to use large amount of cellular data without paying for it or in turn, getting throttled.

If you are a "responsible user", drop your unlimited plan, buy a slug of data and when you go over, pay for it.

Are you all being throttles, or just you? If its just you, how soon are you getting throttled? Is it near the end of the month or only after a couple of days? If its near the end and its just you, you could get a mobile hotspot from t-mobile at Walmart. They have a plan that's $35 for 3gb that's good for two months. So if your only getting throttled at the end of the month, you could use the hotspot during those last few days and only pay for that extra data when you need it. It would also give you the option to use your laptop if you want. Of course this also depends if the places you need it have good t-mobile service.

Also, Verizon does throttle unlimited users, but its more random. It all depends on if the area you are in is congested or not. If it is, they will throttle you, but if not they won't.

Verizon doesn't currently throttle LTE data - only 3G. And as another said, it is only if you're in the top 5% and the tower you're on is currently congested.
compare to AT&T's official policy regarding data throttling:
Do you have an unlimited data plan? If so, we have information to help you manage your account if you use more than 3GB, which means you are in the top 5% of data users in our network

compare to AT&T's official policy regarding data throttling:

Which is complete B.S. since the top 5% will be a dynamic number that changes day to day, month to month. Saying anyone over a certain amount of GB is always in the top 5% is just hogwash.

True I know people with tiered plans that use more than 3GB/ 5GB.

The real bonus on Verizon is if you have unlimited LTE on your phone, you can add unlimited tethering to it for $30/mo extra. Then if you travel with a laptop, it can use your phone for internet and you can download/stream to your heart's content.

I use 30-80GB/mo and I've yet to be throttled on Verizon. If you can get an unlimited plan with them and you use a lot of data, I say jump ship ASAP.

Sometimes the grass isn't always greener.

I'll see how throttling goes. Don't forget there are some of us who use out devices for voice ALOT. With mobile to ANY mobile it's sweet. Also I'm grandfathered into the 700 minute family plan with aList. Combine mobile to ANY mobile and aList(all our GV #'s are in aList and we all have he GV Connect app) we basically have unlimited voice.

It's because of circumstances I'm using a lot more data because I don't have access to wifi nearly as much as I did because I bid on a different job duty.

AT&T is pretty good for voice and data in my area so I don't have complaints in that area.
