i'm very happy, i can't wait to see the new apps that will comes out for leopard from 3rd party developers. I think time machine is great and have used it to restore my system multiple times.

Spaces while it is great it not up to par with some of the virtual desktop apps we had in tiger.

I give it a 8/10. Yes, some of the new features are brilliant. Yes, the desktop with the translucent menu bar looks better. Yes, it is slower than Tiger. It isn't slow to the point where I get mad, it is just noticeable to the point where I am looking forward to Snow Leopard.

I installed Leopard a few days after launch and I have been very happy with it.

I used Tiger for a year leading up to Leopard and I can't say I miss anything about it. Whatever changes that didn't transfer over to Leopard, I either didn't care to notice or learned to cope without it. I love Leopard. :D

I'm happy with Leopard overall. It seems faster than Tiger on my MBP. I'm still having issues with it though.

  • Mail 3 crashes like there's no tomorrow on all the Macs I've used it on.
  • Apps sometimes hang up, and refuse to re-open until a reboot.
  • AirPort still drops out on my MacBook Pro. It was doing it badly last night while I was trying to stream the England V Kazakstahn highlights. Full strength one minute, completely gone the next...

I've enjoyed Leopard from the start and haven't had any major issues. I won't pretend others haven't had issues but for me, it's been solid. And each update appears to make it even better and stable.

I do wish they would fix some of the UI inconsistencies though.

I've been extremely pleased with Leopard and thankfully have had no problems whatsoever since launch day on my Powerbook G4. Getting a bad itch to put Leo on my iMac G4 now that I see it is stable as it gets.

Had a few problems with me getting used to it, I had an iBook G4 (last rev.) and it got stolen so I had to use a custom built PC desktop w/ Vista for a few months. Boy was it terrible. Lost all my mac skills. But you can easily disable the cover flow view in finder... it's just an option..

I've only owned a Mac with Leopard installed, but I have used Tiger a bit and I personally think Leopard is the better of the two (though I am very aware that there are people that disagree). Very, very happy with it.

Im loving the new UI over tiger and that all the newest leopard only apps i can now run, but few things still nag at me.

Like FTFF, why is the finder FTP still read only? thats so useless to me, and the address bar doesnt provide a feasible means to get that address of the current directory into a text format into the clipboard. A little button at the end of the address bar to put the current directory in the form of a string into the clipboard would be most appreciated.

Also weird is how the menubar eject button is hidden in the system folder and no option is provided in the preference panel. Shame because its a neat little menubar item. Even then it only works for the ROms rather than any mounted device and/or image.

I also wish there was some settings for stacks in the preference pane to set default view for newly created stacks, with some nice default treys for stacks so we dont need to use these hacky trey icons.

Leopard has been brilliant for me... I use spaces constantly so I can spread out all my work, and I use quick-look for absolutely everything! Pictures, email attachments, music files, movies, the lot! It's brilliant! Although I can't wait to see what happens with Snow Leopard...

I wonder what the next version of OS X will be called, are they not going to run out of big cats soon?

Having switched in January this year I have no real experience with previous OS X versions, save for toying around briefly with friends' Macs.
That being said I haven't had any issues with Leopard. It is the first operating system I've used which allows me to focus on my work rather than having to spend countless hours to maintain it. OS X 10.5 just works and features the most aesthetically pleasing user interface currently available.
