Is it possible to use a 27” inch iMac as external monitor on a 27” iMac 2011 with bootcamp?

I am a parttime sysadmin who works on an iMac 27” 2011 with Windows bootcamp. At the moment my external screen is a 21,5” Dell 2211h..


I would like to upgrade the monitor because it is very small and makes it a ugly setup. We have more 27” iMacs at work so i would like to use two instead of one and the small Dell.


I know it is possible to use the iMac as external monitor with a Windows system through a thunderbolt to thunderbolt cable. Will this work with a iMac as well?

The article does not say anything about bootcamp.
