I was also wondering if it's too early to think about iPhone 7 ever since the release of 6s/6s+. I have a 6 Plus which works fine for me and while I wouldn't say no to the upgrades the S cycle brought, my current phone is working too well for me to justify forking out near a grand for another phone. My biggest interest is in cosmetics, which was also another reason for not purchasing 6s/6s+.

I did hear rumors about the iPhone 7 being as thin as current iPod touch lines. Some speculate that 3D touch is Apple laying down the foundation for the removal of home button for better screen to body ratio (less bezel would be nice... 6+ feels a little too big sometimes and I have fairly large hands).

Other things I'd like to see:
better screen resolution for plus model (stop downscaling please)
no antenna bands unless they intended it as part of the design..?
no protruding camera

But to be honest, since this year's S upgrade was so huge, I wouldn't mind a slightly upgraded iPhone 6s/6s+ with a brand new design for iPhone 7. I hope it's going to have a nice design/really good update, or else I'm probably going more affordable route and buy a 6s+ off swappa when/if my 6+ quits on me.
I can't see a phone getting thinner because it will compromise both the strength of a phone this large and the battery.

I do agree I'd love to see thinner bezels and a better screen.

Personally I like the upgrade programs. I used to pay extra for a one-year contract on Verizon but they eliminated those a few years back. My phones usually run flawlessly the first year then start to get some minor issues and I get tired of them in year two. Now, for the same price I can upgrade every year again.

I'm curious to see how much of an improvement the A10 will be over the A9. Hopefully it brings more than just a 16% improvement in GeekBench scores like the A8 did over the A7.

I'm thinking they'll save the tri-core design for the 7s.

Yeah i pass on the s series except for the 5s because you only get one year with the design. I believe the 7 will have a dedicated flash (truetone) on the front as opposed to the screen ligthing up.
They will get rid of the protruding camera and visible antenna lines.
Possible slow mo for the front camera as well along with images that move.
Even slower slo mo for the main camera.

If they do remove the bezels which i seriously doubt they will, they might implement a force touch id on the screen.

Until then my 6+ is still going strong

It'll protrude through the front now to make the back flush.

Touch ID will stick out too: like the volume buttons. I hate how the volume buttons stick out. Way too far. Worst design ever.

Apple need to bring out a flagship 4" iPhone 7. Flush camera, smaller bezels, much better battery life, no ugly antenna bands. Proper black.

All else is immaterial.

They better get rid of the power button. I hate that thing. They could do it you know. Siri is always listening now.

Too early for me to start talking about it. 6s Plus is damn-near perfect, in my eyes. Very satisfied.

Nope, I wouldn't say so. The 6S models are out and up next will be the 7. Not everyone is gonna be getting a 6S and instead will be patiently waiting for the 7.

For me, personally, yeah it's too early cause I haven't even bought my 6S yet! I won't be getting a 7 though. I've always gone for S models so the 6S will do me until late 2017.

I've always gone for the new release models but this time I've gone for the S+ and wow it's a great update over the 6. Refined and more advanced, I'm going to stay on the S lines of phones from here on out.

The S cycle is the way forward, as long as you can cope with it having the same design as the previous years phone, which isn't a problem for me. I'd rather have the rev. MK II of a phone where all the design issues from MKI have been ironed out. Antennagate, scuffgate, bendgate were all number-cycle issues.

Also the number cycle phones tend to be underpowered for what they are. They tend to house a bump in resolution that the SOC can only just about support. iPhone 4 went to retina, and both iPhone 5 and 6 increased resolution and display size. To have a comparatively "weak" SOC supporting these bumps in resolution isn't really what I want as it tends to cause lag prematurely over the lifetime of the device. I'd much rather wait for the next gen chip to come along, one that can comfortably support the new resolutions introduced the year prior. This combined with what I mentioned earlier, along with other refinements and improvements (such as more RAM) gives the S cycle a much better experience overall.
