I am getting freezes and periodic bluetooth disconnect from my mouse. I did a clean install and tried letting it run for two days incase it was indexing or time machine and it is still freezing and slow. Does anyone know how to fix these things? I could really use some help.

2 ghz core duo macbook here. For the most part, I think it's exactly the same, but it is a bit slower in some areas (see below). FYI, I did an archive and install.

It's a bit more sluggish with expose, but really only when I use both the MB screen and my external ACD. I guess that's too much for the GMA 950 to handle.

Things also take longer to get going after a restart, but it's still well under a full minute from cold boot to fully functional, so that's Ok.

Lastly, quicksilver no longer works as well as it did. There's definitely a delay, whether I'm doing a hot key launch or invoking. Disappointing, but nothing hideous.

On the whole, I certainly think the upgrade to leopard is worth it. It's disappointing to see the above-mentioned slow downs, but they are pretty minor, and this is just the initial release. I trust that things will improve as apple refines leopard - that was certainly the has with earlier versions of OS X.

I have solved the choppy windows problem on my macbook 1.1 by running this on terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES

and then

killall Dock

This turns on the 2D dock, as the choppy windows seem to be a consequence of the new 3D dock that slows down the aladdin effect.

just installed

I just installed leopard on my 2gh 18 month old MacBook. It is great. I have a gig of ram. And expose and spaces is working great. Leopard is running faster than tiger did before.

I did an upgrade install.

In the 3 days of use on a 2 ghz c2d, I would say Tiger was rock solid and ran smoother than Leopard. However, you must take into consideration Tiger had 10 updates. On a 1.5 ghz PB it seems not worth the upgrade right now. I kind of wish I would have left Tiger.

The only thing that appears slower on my MacBook is that it takes considerably longer to boot up. Other than that, no complaints.

I had done an archive and install, but just got done with an erase and install. Much faster now, the dock isn't glitchy and everything is much faster than before. I just pulled all my stuff out of time machine.

in the beginning when Steve Jobs created the Macbook
he said let there be a 2.0Ghz Core2Duo, and there was a 2.0Ghz Core2Duo, on day 2 he said let there be 2GB of RAM, and there was 2GB of RAM,
...
[days later]
...
on day 6 Steve Jobs said let there be Leopard, and there was leopard, but he found that leopard was initially kind of slow, After leopard indexed everything and ran through a few minor setups ect. Steve Jobs said "REBOOT" (in a God-ly tone) and Macbook rebooted.
On Day 7 Steve Jobs Saw that everything he had created was good, but instead of resting, he ordered his minions to begin work on cougar!

(in reality leopard only took a few hours to index and setup everything, and leopard is much faster than tiger in just about everything! :D)

I'll agree with ur last statement. Tiger and Spotlight, yeah it worked for me, but it ran way way slow. Leopards spotlight runs a bit quicker (not as fast as a G5 or Intel Mac runs it). Boot-up time is faster.

I'm running a MacBook 2.16 GHz with 2 Gigs of RAM and Leopard runs uniformly faster for me...EXCEPT for the various graphical effects. Minimizing in both genie and scale modes produces significant frame skipping, Expose chokes when fewer windows are opened, and the dashboard also chugs while appearing. These were silky smooth in Tiger.

I have exactly the same experience

I have a year old Macbook pro 17" and leopard seems about the same speed as Tiger apart from when i load the RSS feed for Engadget then the whole computer freezes and i get the spinning beach ball until it loads.

Any only else have this problem?

Running Sweet

Did and Erase and Install (then Migration Assistant from Tiger Image), and running very very sweet. Clearly faster than Tiger on a white 2.16GHz with 2GB of RAM.

No graphical issues or slow downs. Also faster to boot and definitely faster to sleep and wake than Tiger was.

I would highly recommend!

I backed up my Macbook (specs in sig), erased it and then started all over again.

Installed all my apps and then transfered the stuff I needed back over to my Macbook, erased the external HD with all my backups and got time machine going.

I honestly find Leopard a lot more snappier then Tiger and find it quite fast.
