As it will be their 10th anniversary for iPhone. Would it be the real game changer for iPhone and let alone the iPhone 7 left with very similar design to its predecessor and has minimum new features?

Still couldn't see myself not getting it on November though.

I don't see why anniversaries are worth making anything significant for. Either your stuff is ready before then, by then, or after then. They shouldn't be held back or rushed just to meet some date.

This is actually the first year I see myself not upgrading an iPhone. I think Apple dos really well with the 6s series and just as well with iOS 10, despite the gripes of some on MR on the latter point.

All things are pointing to not getting an overhaul of the iPhone this year as we have been given every two years prior. There's a lot of time left before the reveal though and I've always been a believer in the possibility of surprises despite not really seeing any from Apple for years now haha.

same here. i update every 2 years but think i'll grab a 6S instead if all the rumors are true or nothing "wows" me later this year.

I won't upgrade phone this year because I got an SE. Love that little phone.

But I will get an iPad. Storage has become an issue for me. If I load all the shows I'm currently watching I run out of room. So I'll get an iPad and put them there, with only music on my iPhone.

Nothing from Apple this year, so I'll buy the X-Box One S coming out in August :D Wanted a new MacBook Pro but Tim Cook screwed this one up as well.

I can't see Apple making a crappy phone for 2016 because they want to save the better one for the 10th anniversary. Businessss don't care about that stuff. They have shareholders and business they need to satisfy Now.

I agree. There are legitimate reasons for Apple to extend it's product cycle and put off a major update for another year, but an anniversary ISN'T one of them, IMHO.

in previous years, the leaks have shown that a lot of what is leaked, is true. if the trend continues, we shouldn't expect anything big this year.

you do realize WWDC means developer conference. and ps4 neo is better anyways.

Rumours so far point to the iPhone 7 sharing the 6 design, while the iPhone 8 should be a all new design. Maybe we are getting the same design 3 years running cause apple wants something special for the 10th year anniversary

I agree, this is the first year I don't plan on getting an iPhone for the first time since the first one. I just don't see what they could give me this year that would convince me I don't need the 6s anymore.

Allow me to disagree. They might have already planned the new design or the biggest features that are yet to come but choose to extend it to release something extraordinary for their 10th anniversary. Usually these huge companies would release something different in certain occasions.

Of course this is just my opinion, but I think that the 7 will either be the last model before they re-design, or as a warm-up for the 2017 iPhone (idk what it's going to be called)

Basically no one really knows one way or another until Apple actually announces something related to it.

I think they are holding out for next year honestly. I will be upgrading to the iPhone 7 regardless, but if I had a 6s, I'd be waiting one more year for the 10th anniversary iPhone.

The leaks tend to be fairly accurate, and they're suggesting that the 7 isn't going to be much different to the 6S.

Since I'm still on the 5S, I'll alsmost certainly be getting the 7 anyway.

Assuming they are real leaks, and there's often no good way of telling if they are or aren't (and already times that have been shown that various ones have either not been real or leaks for something else that was presented as iPhone for some reason by someone).

If thats the case I'm keeping my 6+. Had it for almost 2 years now and it still feels new to me. Truly the first phone Ive owned that Ive been completely content with. I'll likely wait till the 2017 iPhone if the one in fall turns out to be nothing major.

I may pick the iPhone 7 up (but not on the first day). Saying that. I have owned every iPhone at launch time. Maybe wait to $300 costco or SAMs gift card thanksgiving deals To pick an iPhone 7 up. That way I can justify selling my iPhone 6S plus 64Gb for $400-450 (whatever the going price is by thanksgiving 2016). I had purchased it full price for $850 plus taxes. So I can rationized the $500 hit I take by selling a used one year old iPhone 6S plus ($900 minus $400 selling price). By adding back the $300 gift card (if they have the same deals as last year)

So my "net" cost for owning the iPhone 6S plus for 13 months would be around $200! After the gift cards and reselling the iPhone.

Apple probably figures iPhone is such a mature product and can try to stretch their life cycle to 3 years with similar body design. Heck the MacBook Air has had the same body style for 6 years??? And the iMac is going on almost 4 years with the same body style.

I think it's a convenient opportunity to avoid the decision, due to supply chain issues, to bestow only the Plus with dual lens, OLED etc as some suggested. I don't think they were capable of producing the number of phones needed to meet the demand of the true intended redesign for both screen sizes.

Can't say anything as 2017 is far away, and what new rumors will pop up next year after the lauch.as for now i am going to pick up iPhone 7 when launched(nothing wrong with the design i like it and don't want to wait for the new design and new features etc etc which doesn't even exists for now)
