yeah it wasn't submitted as a PR and so it was never included. I wish someone would run the later Xcode benchmarks on their 7,1 and submitted their results
I spent 3 hours restoring the machine. Glad I've done the process many times, and that I already had the correct Apple Configurator installed on my mac mini m1.
Great questionJust curious, why did you go the recovery route,...
Good question. This was something I asked when I bought my latest Mac pro. What is the power cycle count and what's the total data written to the SSD?
What is the power cycle count and what's the total data written to the SSD?
Did you find that information on your own machine?...I recently bought one brand new in the specification 16 core, 4TB, 96GB, 580X for 2000 Euro incl. shipping costs to my country.
It will not fit. A 330mm long card.I'm not sure if the card I'm looking for will fit in the case? (Phantom Gaming RX 6800 XT 16GB)

My 7,1 has a 6900XT in it.That's what I was afraid of 🙁
Then I'll only be able to use the plain cards without XT
Thanks for the answer!
Thanks!
No problem. REAL shame that we can't update to newer cards. Thanks!
I already found a GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6800 XT GAMING OC card
This will fit comfortably in the house
I don't care about Apple's dirty tactics. They're pulling support from machines that would still be going strong for years to come!No problem. REAL shame that we can't update to newer cards.
I might even buy a spare 6900 just in case.
I know nothing about GPU drivers but I've alwas wondered why Nvidia/AMD couldn't just have written a driver without the help of Apple.
Supposedly have to be signed by Apple?but I've alwas wondered why Nvidia/AMD couldn't just have written a driver without the help of Apple.
Unfortunately, the intel mac pro will be officially dead in a few yearsSupposedly have to be signed by Apple?
I don’t know 100% and probably don’t have the technical term correct. It’s a shame.
Unless a way around that is found then all Intel powered Mac Pros are dead in the very near future. Especially when the supply of GPUs dries up.
Do we end up with a booming industry of people repairing dead RX6800s and similar so they work again and selling them for gold-plated prices? Thats not right.
Plus, there are different skins that can be used to make Linux look almost like MacOS!
ExactlyThis is an older video, for I think Plasma 5, but I rewatch it every now and then to remind myself that Linux is still a lifeboat that can be made to work in a way that captures the fundamental macOs things (especially the global menubar).
A lot of software we depend on is going to stop supporting Intel Macs soon, including Pro apps like Adobe (I give it a year)
It is easy enough to use Windows, the Adobe apps are there as well and they work fine, I do this sometimes.
I have no issues using Windows 11 Pro for Workstations. With my work I have to use both Windows and MacOS.
Also our users mostly have Windows machines of some sort so it's beneficial to be using the same OS at least part of the time.
