Agreed. Apple seems to have forgotten, first and foremost computers are a tool to accomplish tasks. Functionality must be first, form can follow.

Just needs to be "bumped up" don't want iCool with added pretentions, I want a purposeful computing solution's as do many others, before 15% of professional users rapidly becomes less than 5%...

Exactly Apple needs some new blood that's actually interested in designing computers for it's customer's to use, not just to stand and look at. Apply some common sense on the usability side and have lines that are actually differentiated, not everything ever more compromised, thinner disposable rubbish, with or with out "Bells & whistles"...

Love my 2017 MacBook Pro. Best laptop I have ever owned. So not everyone agrees with you.

Love my 2017 MacBook Pro.

Good to hear.
That said, please also be a forum user of good faith and definitely report honestly if you do end up having an issue down the line.

It's still really early on the 2017 models when judging long term experience and reliability.

Short Version:

If must have now, buy.

If can wait, wait.

That!
My MacMini (2011) started to stutter and do all kinds of odd things after running 24/7 for almost 7 years. If that wasn't bad enough (I'm not going to buy a brand new 2014 model, no way Apple) I also dropped my main working machine: an iPad Pro 12.9 and busted case and screen. Darn.
So I went to the Apple store and got myself the nicest, baddest, fastest portable device they had in store: 15" i7 2.9 16Gb 512Gb with 4gb discrete graphics.
Man this thing is nice :D:p
