Just drove by the apple store where I reserved my phone...no line at all. I feel like im doing something wrong. I'll just sit in my car until 7 then go in, it's too cold outside to be out there for no reason

You people do realize its just a phone, so to the OPs question, no its not worth standing in line in the winter to buy a phone that will get replaced in 4 months

Well guys I got the phone. Waited 3 hours in the car and 2 hours outside. Not too bad at all. Snowed a little bit and was mid 30's. Its now a white out outside and I still have class. I was first one to walk out the door with the phone even though I was handed #4 slip. Very happy and haven't even played with it yet.

it was well worth it for me. I had one bar on my att phone last night at 3am!!!

In 4 months I will buy a new phone.. Full price. Not a problem for me

Given the number of reports, you probably could have slept in and then sauntered into an apple store and picked up your phone.

From the reports floating out there, there were no lines in many locations, and what did have lines were rather short.

It doesn't sound like VZW was in any danger of running out of stock today.

I strolled in to one of the 15 stores within about 25 miles of where I work and walked out with mine and my wife's 32GB iPhones. The Verizon rep deleted my "preorder" that was to ship on the 18th and I have been happily playing with mine ever since.

I think I will bring my old Tour to the shooting range this weekend and blow it to pieces. :D

It seemed like they staffed up like crazy and there were only a handful of people buying them. Best phone buying experience of my life. :apple:

I reserved 2 iphones in Freehold, NJ. Went after work (about 5:30 PM). Store was average crowded, not 1 person waiting in line. Waited 2 minutes, and the salesperson spent an hour with me setting up the new account etc. The reason it took an hour was that I was the first "new account" (i.e. non-current Verizon customer) he had seen all day and he didn't really know how to do it. He said there was no line because most of the phones had been pre-ordered the week before. So much for the millions of lost AT&T customers...

im actually happy all these ppl didnt jump ship to verizon.

I just hope verizon removes the unlimited data before iphone 5.

I was on my way to the troy mi apple store, where I had one reserved, figured id stop in at the VZW Store to see how bad the line was, since were were planning on camping out the night before, 1 person in line, we got there at 5:30, starbucks was out there with hot coffee, more people came in line, and we chatted a bit. Doors opened at 7, I was 2nd in the door, the staff cheered us in one by one, Out by 7:30 and home by 8. Saved a 120 mile round trip by getting it at the VZW Store. And I even got to remove the cellophane on the iPhone. Congrats to verizon and apple for making this launch as seamless as possible. One happy verizon customer

Wow that's a pretty sad justification on the poor showing of the VZW iPhone

As for the unlimited data, the head honchos over at VZW have made a number of statements along the lines that they'll be moving to a tiered system like AT&T.

Perhaps now that they're down sampling media and throttling the bandwith on some users, they'll defer that plan. Personally, I'd rather have a data cap and not deal with someone lowering the quality of my images/videos and/or making the network slower (as CDMA is slower then GSM anyways)
