So I have to think about it, thank you, because all of you make me to know advantages or disadvantages. Maybe I am going to test the SS in SB

Do it. The space black stainless is amazing. It literally changes hues of Black tones depending on the lighting, where It can appear very glossy or a milky shade of black. Also, it includes the DLC [Diamond Like coating] coating, which almost is in impervious to scratches.

Typical really but my screen is scratched on my Nike series 5...only just noticed it today. Think it happened last night...bummer

This is the downside from aluminium to SS

Sure? And do you think that this kind of issues are not worth to upgrade to the SS version?

Yes, but, is it worth the extra cost?
The price difference is a very significant amount for some people and trivial for others. Similarly, some people are super OCD about any sorts of scratches or scuffs and others just aren’t bothered. So without knowing your financial situation and your priorities, that’s an impossible question to answer.

Personally, I have always gone with the aluminum model because I like the weight better for running/working out and because I feel less bad about upgrading when I go for the cheaper model. But that’s just me

For me now it is...I have bad OCD lol I’ve just ordered the SS already... returning it due to cost at the start but now I can safety justify it

Did you buy recently? I had the same issue in Christmas and I returned it, but I didn’t know if it was only mine or it is normal.

My series 4 had the same problem but months after I buy it, only three , so now I want to try the SS version in SB, because it’s easy to scratch (not to easy) the case

I’ve had it a good few months so can’t return it...my mate is buying it off me. Due to the scratches I couldn’t get fair value for it anyway so resale value wouldn’t be good

I sold my S4 a month before the S5 released as it was scratched up, thought i would get as much value as i could back.
I havn't replaced it yet, is there that much difference with the SS as far as screen scratching?

I’ve never had an issue with SS models while I have now with aluminium:( guess you pay for better scratch Resistance

Yeah same watch really just watch faces and bands you can buy separately anyway

The SS only comes with cellular hence the extra $$ just realised, my S4 was cellular but rarely used it. Is the weight on wrist difference better? i am used to my seiko divers now.
They make it hard to decide.

I used the UAG velcro band on my S4 and the Nomad sport before that, didnt really like the Apple rubber bands, guess the velcro sport band would be similar to UAG.

The weight difference is noticeable for some but not me personally. I won’t use cellular personally.

Why limit your option to just the stainless steel when you can get the ceramic version ;)

since an apple watch is a product that is useless in a few years (battery, software), i would always buy the aluminum version and rather buy a new one after 2-3 years which costs the price of 1 stainless watch price wise i guess.

I agree. My aluminum S0 still worked fine when I upgraded to the aluminum S4. It probably had scratches, but I didn't notice them in use. While I don't see the need to upgrade every year, I also don't see the need to spend almost twice the price for something that will be outdated in a few years. I don't use screen protectors or cases, but I do take my watch off when working on a car. I wear it for all other activities.

OP, only you can decide if the SS AW is worth it. Beside the initial cost there are other factors at play, such as how you feel when wearing the watch. Does it make you smile, does it make you feel good? If so, then it's probably worth it for you.

In my case, I prefer to buy the aluminum since I know I will be replacing the watch in a couple of years. I know that it's not a long-term purchase, so I'd rather not sink the additional money into SS, Ti or ceramic. I'd rather spend the $700+ on an auto/mechanical watch that will last longer.

Again, value is subjective to the user. Whatever your decision, I hope you enjoy your AW. They're excellent.

Yeah, for me it’s only a price, you pay for better materials, so I want to test first and then I am going to decide. Thank you for this comment
