Is Jet Black as scarce as people make it seem?

the jet black shortage is pure speculation created by paranoid macrumors users who didnt get a tracking number ASAP. for the record, i ordered my black 7 plus at 3:15am EST and my date said the 23rd until yesterday when i received the tracking # stating i'm getting the phone on 9/16. Apple is well aware that 66% of their revenue comes from iPhones and i dont think they'd only have enough jet black to satisfy the 10 customers who initially received a date of 9/16 for it..

seriously, who has CONCLUSIVE proof that the jet black iphones wont ship until late september? :crickets:

I honestly barely care at this point. I'm starting to like the gold color again. Mess. If once I get it and it scratches easily, it's for sure going back. I'll either get Gold or Matte Black.

it will scratch easy. well known reviewer Marques Brownlee was at the keynote and he said the JB phones on display afterwards were already scratched up

In retrospect I thought Jet Black and the Black was also going to sell out quick. I ended up ordering silver and man do i regret that because the Silver 7 Plus 32GB has been the slowest one. Won't get fooled again

It does... Strangely, the Jet Black 7 had some launch day availability right at ordering, but it went quick. The 7+ on the other hand, forget it. I think the first group that was quoted to ship was the 9/26-10/3

That's what I've been thinking. The Apple Store opened at 3:03AM my time and I got my order confirmation at 3:04AM and still got the 9/26-10/3 quote. My order is still in processing as of now. I don't think they have much, if not at all, of the Jet Black 7+

What more proof do you need other than what Apple quoted everyone that made the order for the jet black(no one got a 9/16 date) ? No one got bumped up like you said you did for the black. Apple never said they would bump people up. They didn't have to say anything more than the date they quoted when you made the order. It's not a big deal but the jet black plus likely not out this Friday.

Some posts on here seem to suggest that at least a few people have delivery dates of the 16th direct from Apple. This isn't true. The earliest ship date they were offering is the 26th

I don't know of this thread is USA only, but my carrier in Sweden has stated in a reply to someone asking on facebook that they won't get a single JB+ from Apple for the first three weeks.

In Hong Kong, I couldn't log into the pre-order page for the first 6 minutes, after I was able to place the order, the shipping date had already slipped to November. However, I heard that some people who used automated programs (bots) to reserve were able to get the first batch of Jet Black iPhones from Apple Stores.

My Delivery Date is "10-17 October by standard shipping"... I'm going to change it to overnight, see how more quickly it arrives. Had to way 54 days for my Space Black watch last year (I have Watch 2 coming and delivery is "9/30 by standard shipping", so, REALLY getting tired of Apple running out of or slow deliveries on things that they KNEW would be in high demand...and didn't build enough stock ahead of time. Wonder how Tim Cook is treating those responsible for stocking?

No one on here truly knows what Apple Stores will have. Even the Apple Employees that have been spoken with don't know what they'll get. I've yet to see an Apple employee say that stores won't have any JB for walk-ins. Most say they're hopeful or they assume they will.

Apple employees like ATT sales people have no idea. There might be a few JB but I am betting they are rare. I know the manager at our local Apple Store and he said that walk ins willout a reserved phone be lucky to get any iPhone 7, much less a JB. It will not happen but you can always hope.

I am almost sure that Tim Cook wish he place his pre-order for an JB iPhone 7 at midnight of the 13th. Now, I am almost sure he is in line at one of the SF Apple Store locations camping out until Friday morning in the hopes of getting a JB iPhone 7 plus. Nobody at Apple had the "courage" to tell him that there are no JB for walk-ins. Mr. Cook going be upset when he find out that he wasted full three days and still got nothing!

Why are you receiving your watch Sept 30th? I ordered when pre-orders went live and will receive mine tomorrow.
