The poll doesn't make any sense, since we are all going to die anyway. No matter how good or bad we live our lives, no matter what we achieve or how much fun we have, at the end we die.

OP, you should talk to someone, a friend, family member, or professional. If you need help, reach out for it. Try this # 1-800-273-TALK.

The Groundhog didn't see his shadow, so Spring's right around the corner. Definitely something to look forward to..

Good advice even if it's just a precaution.

life can be tough at times, but than suddenly it can be great.

do one thing for me today: go to you local library, check out 'the glass castle' by jeannette walls.
read it right there.
it's a terrific and terrifying true account of life by someone who had it rough, at least for a while, and plowed through it.

if anyone runs through life without purpose then i imagine life can feel meaningless. i dont think we appreciate life until we have something/one to live for. thus you dont care about living until you care about dying. when your life becomes important to you and someone in your life, as in your children.

What sort of **** question is that? How the hell are we meant to know if life is better than death? None of us here are dead!

I tend to agree with this assessment. For the OP, are you implying there is a spiritual life after wards? Even if you are not, the only real comparison we can make is living better than oblivion? I suspect 'death is better' will be coming from those chronically depressed or being wise asses. ;)

I'll also point out this is a flawed poll. Not enough choices that represent the spiritual vs the atheist views. I see no answer that is appropriate for me which would be 'unknown'.

As a Christian, I finally do have purpose in life. Without Christ, life is pointless in my opinion. If you have any questions about God or what will make your life worthwhile, go to needhim.org.

that you find solace in your religion is fine, but to suggest that 'life is pointless" without jesus is insane. the vast majority of people has led and leads christ-less lives. all billions of of them pointless?

When I was in my early 20's, and even into my 30's I would have voted a strong yes as I was involved in many exciting things and had some positive relationships going on, but now that I am in my 40's, and have no real strong ties or relationships (parents deceased, remaining family members I am not really that close to, and most people that I know or meet these days irritate me more than anything) and I am forced to submit to the daily drudgery of a corporate job that leaves little time to nurture the soul, I have less qualms about checking out early than i previously have had..Don't confuse that with being suicidal because I am not (and I dont need someone from this forum sending the cops to check on my ass), but I sort of feel that at this point in my life I've done alot more than most people have had an opportunity to do, and that from now on it's all just work to prepare for retirement.
