Well, the guys at the Genius Bar were very nice. They told me that they could get me a 3rd party company to fix it for $280. Woah. Not happening. Its not worth that much to me to pay that price. I'll just sell it as-is on craigslist for something cheap and use it toward a MB. Or I can try to fix the issue myself, i dont know.

Did u go to partridge creek

Wait...

You complained in multiple posts about this and it wasn't even worth $280 to fix?

First of all, your iBook is quite old (what, 4-5 years?). Second, it's out of warranty. Third, you should have been responsible enough to backup data if your only computer is a somewhat old laptop.

**** happens and I'm sorry that you are where you are, but come on.

Yes, I went to Partridge Creek. Why? How'd you know?

Also, reason I didnt pay? Well, when I got home, me an my dad took it apart, and managed to fix it. The video cable on the back of the LCD was disconnected.
So, I'm typing on it at the moment, all fixed.

Why pay $280 when you can DIY? XD

...Why didn't you do that in the first place?

Well, thanks for making a bogus complaint and then whining to us. Glad to act as your sounding board.

I took it in before opening it because I wanted to see if they could do something for me before I tampered with it. If I couldn't fix it, then yes, maybe I would have taken it in for repair then if I really needed to, but it was going to be done by a 3rd party, and they would have no control over my data, as they could just replace the HD if they wanted.
As for bogus complaint ........ what? What did I do wrong, huh? I asked if anybody had their opinion if they would honor the recall. If you just going to complain, don't do it here.
