Is my SSD supposed to be this slow?

I'm trying to figure out if I should use Trim Enabler for my Vertex 3 Max IOPS. Anyone know?

There is no need to enable TRIM support. The Vertex 3 has its own garbage collection (Sandforce). It's build into the drive already.

From what I am seeing, the Intel tool box is windows only

It is, I assumed you'd have access to either a Bootcamp partition and/or another Windows machine.

If not, go here (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/841182/) and try these options to get the drive to secure erase.
