Have you ever looked at your iPhone and thought, “Man, this scrolling is so slow”? I never had.

If you watch a lot of movies, which are shot in 24fps, they will look better with ProMotion. Whether you will notice the difference or not, only you can answer. Videophiles would say so. But I seldom watch movies on my iPhone; I have so many other devices for that.

I wonder if it's possible to explain it medically when people say 'I've used 120hz iPad Pro along with 60hz iPhone and I've never noticed the difference in smoothness or speed.' Maybe it's something like color-blindness? Speed-blindless perhaps? 😉

ProMotion and the extra RAM are the only reasons I'm upgrading from 11 Pro Max. It's a massive upgrade IMO.

I notice the difference between using my iPad Pro with 120hz vs my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's not huge, it's mainly smoother, faster scrolling and swiping. That alone might be enough for some.

It’s more just a ‘nice to have’ rather than anything ground breaking. I’m actually more excited for the battery savings it will provide - as well as the ultra low power mode I can turn on when I need to by limiting the max refresh rate to 60 to have it float between 60-10 Hz
I recall reading somewhere on Apple's site that there wasn't a setting for promotion, but it would be interesting to see what happens if low power mode is enabled.

Interesting. There is one on the iPad Pro’s so I can only assume it would be the same here, but I guess we will find out on Friday🤷🏻‍♂️

I always said the whole 60 to 90 or 12 refresh rate don’t bother me but when I’ve used 2 of my employees Samsung devices I think to myself “I would like this on my iPhone” Again not a need but more of a desire. Glad it’s it’s finally there.

If you're asking strangers if it's worth upgrading your iPhone, then the answer is no because if you really needed or wanted to upgrade, you wouldn't ask random people on the internet.
Lol it’s called asking for an opinion. I’m not an expert and want an opinion.

The only people that will tell you its not worth it are people who haven't experienced 120hz, especially when gaming or scrolling through text.
I've experienced ProMotion and I don't think it is a feature that should be a significant factor when making a purchasing decision. Sure, it's nice to have, but not worth avoiding a device that doesn't have it, or paying extra for it.

But then again, I don't have superhuman X-Men vision that can spot individual pixels on a Retina display from 20 feet away.

I'm glad it's there too, I think it will be faster, smoother, and more fluid. I don't think Apple would highlight those claims on its site if it wasn't going to be noticeable. I also think it helps explain the improved battery life.

"The new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion can refresh from 10 to 120 times per second, and all kinds of frame rates in between. It intelligently ramps up when you need exceptional graphics performance, and ramps down to save power when you don’t. It even accelerates and decelerates naturally to match the speed of your finger as you scroll. You’ve never felt anything like it.

iOS 15 is optimized for ProMotion, so the things you do every day feel phenomenally fluid"

Apple isn't usually the first to the party with a new feature but when they finally add it, they usually do it best.

Not for me. I’ve used 120hz on iPad Pro since 2017 and it’s the least important feature I can think of at the moment.

I’m upgrading (from a 12 Pro) for the better cameras and better battery life.
