Is RAM upgradeable in the Mac Mini?

I installed 32G of crucial ballistic sport memory which is 2666 mhz RAM. But my Mac mini registers it as 2400 mhz RAM. Has someone else encountered this or something similar in other configurations? Is this due to it being higher performance ram, reaching a voltage bottleneck of the system (although it's 1,2 v according to the specs). I posted this in another thread as well, because I'm looking for a quick reaction, needing to decide to return the memory sticks or not...

Are there are "issues" with it being CL18?
