I have a SS Series 9 - looks like I will keep it indefinitely. I already have a titanium watch (Ultra). SS has always been a nice option in Apple Watches. Some like a more dense watch.

Obviously we need to see/feel the new Titanium watches to confirm…

If the smaller one is discontinued, a big thumbs down for me regardless of case material.

Yeah I didn’t see the smaller watch mentioned but assume they’ll keep it, otherwise they literally reduce the amount of people who can buy it due to it being too big for many people. Confused to be honest.

My internal logic + options I foresee:

- It's gone. Apple is trying to save $; by eliminating SS (polished Ti is 'close enough') and the smaller size (people will wear oversized Watch because they have no choice and get used to it). Whether or not they keep the SE with a 40/41mm option for those who want a smaller one, e.g. what they did with the iPhone (and the small=cheap mentality I loathe) is to be seen, but given that even the iPhone Mini/SE eventually got mothballed, I don't foresee that being anything other than a stop-gap unless we all complain.
- The small one stays at 41mm; other than a material change (since it seems the S10 uses the same chipset) there is basically nothing marketable about it, so they didn't mention it; I feel like they would have listed the two case sizes at the summary at the end like always though, if this was the case (pun intended?).
- The small one is 42mm, but the Series 0-3 was also 42mm, which is confusing, so Apple isn't marketing it.
- OR, maybe their logic is that the 'small' is already approaching the size of the old large one, so... it's gone.

It's a huge letdown if once again, like with the iPhone, the 'bigger is better' crowd won out. I'm curious how many non-Aluminum/SE 41mm Watches Apple sold, and if it was a low enough % to justify axing the small one. I feel like it's a mistake if so.

My wife won’t buy the bigger watch, she can’t wear the 45mm now and I’d imagine the Series 10 is about the same outer size. Her wrists are under 6”, she’s tiny. Really odd strategy by Apple. Save money and save people bothering to buy it lol.

I upgraded from a S0 42mm to a S5 41mm because the 44 was too big. If the floor is now 46mm, I'm screwed.

Did I miss something? New AirPods Pro II and Apple Watch Ultra II carry same names as last years models but have newer hardware? confused as will others be.

the main reason that I wear SS model is for the feel and weight. If titanium's watch size is closer to what aluminum is, then I am not a fan of the change.

I'm bummed about the move to Titanium because of the color ways options (or lack thereof). I love my Black SS AW S7... kind of unsure which S10 model to choose from now.

Slate looks pretty close to Space Black.
You think? The band here seems to match the watch, which does not look black.

It's not welcomed for me, simply because I've been using the same link bracelet since Series 0.

I guess my hope for an all-brushed steel model someday has officially ended.

If I get a new model, I might "downgrade" and go stealth with the all black aluminum with black rubber.

If you want black, the aluminum looks like the best bet this year. The good thing about the aluminum models is that they are often on sale from Best Buy / Amazon / Walmart, etc.

Yea, I just don't like the feel of the aluminum models. They feel a little cheaper and also scratch much more easily, and I'm unfortunately not the most gentle to my watch, so think the higher quality model is a must for me.

Got it... but beware, if you don't like the feel of aluminum, you may not like how titanium feels either (titanium feels more solid than aluminum, but it is just about as light). Also, who knows how these coated/polished titanium finishes age

That's the good thing about the steel. It's not coated, so it scratches like any other steel watch. Now all of the offerings are coated.

Still hoping for the ceramic to make a comeback.
Now when it’s a mature product it makes a bit more sense to buy a nicer one.

It was a cool finish but given it's been 5 generations, I'm starting to think it's not coming back?

was gonna get an updated stainless steel model since i gave the watch a break for a few years. now that they've removed the stainless steel, will not be buying at all.

Dunno about the polished, but my brushed SBTi S6 has aged just fine.

That's a good point. Can you polish the silver/natural Ti models?
