That one looks like a 42mm on your wrist. :)

You are correct on the screen real-estate, but it is easier to read the larger text!
It's definitely a 38mm, trust me haha.... so you can imagine what the 42mm looked like! Lol

True, but you can also make the text larger on the 38mm, but I've never felt the text was too small. Only maybe for the first day or so. I got used to it then.
 
The newest trend seems to be large watches. This is why G-Shocks have started surging in popularity - it's just cool to have a big, bulky watch.

That being said, the pic you posted (OP) doesn't even show that the watch is "bulky" - it looks just right.

I like G-Shock and its appeal. But they feel tacky and cheap, even though they are built very durable. That said, the 42 MM isn't even near bulky. I suggest the OP hold and wear an Omega, Tag Heurer or Invicta for a large comparison.
