A friend of mine went to the Apple Store to test drive the new 4S before preordering today and she said she couldn't tell a difference between the 4S and the 4. She knew they looked identical but she said speed wise there wasn't much difference. She said she only played with it for a couple minutes, but the conclusion she came to was that it wasn't very different.

Does the Apple Store even have the 4S on the floor yet?

Has anyone else played with the 4S at the Apple Store?

Apple doesn't put products on the floor this early that aren't available for purchase (from my experience).

this does not include products that are OOS.

Sorry but I don't think your friend knew what she was doing.
The iPhone 4S is not in the stores yet. They don't get demo units early.

Unfortunately, Apple does not usually display products that aren't available yet for sale. They've never "previewed" products on their store floor before like that. I believe your friend was just playing with an iPhone 4 model.

Your friend does not know what she is talking about. The 4S is NOT available in Apple Stores. In fact, people may have them before the stores do.

I'd be way more worried about her if she detected a noticeable difference...

No need to be jerks, guys.

She wasn't trying to be malicious. She just wanted to try one out before ordering (She's still using a cracked screen 3G) and I'm sure she didn't realize it wasn't the new one.

I love that she just assumed they were the iPhone 4S. Did she have any reason to think they were?

Maybe she should stick with the 3G or get the iP4. I fear Siri might trick her into thinking that she has a droid, then make her clean out her bank account .

She didn't tell the difference between the phone she was playing with and iPhone 4 because the one she was playing with was an iPhone 4.

OP, you trolling?
