i was able to cancel one of my online orders (other one is still scheduled to arrive Sep27 - Oct1) and picked up one at a walmart.

I went to two Apple stores this morning and it does appear that they are receiving them daily. Both stores confirmed that they will be receiving more today and tomorrow but it will be a very limited amount. The first store only had 2 ATT 5S come in (as well as a couple for each carrier). The second store opened at 10:00 but waiting on their shipment to arrive, estimating between 10:00 and 12:00. Both said they will receive more tomorrow as well but won't know what they're receiving until it actually arrives.

I stopped by the NY Apple Flagship on 5th Ave last night after work, around 8pm. They were sold out of every model except for a couple of Sprint ones. I expected as much but I just like to check. lol. The Apple dude did say they get shipments daily but he doesn't know how many of which models.

I'm still curious why there wasn't pre-order for 5S. It would have alleviated some of this. Or maybe they wanted that buzz. *shrug* I ordered mine online already anyway. If I happen to find the one I want in town before it arrives, great. If not, one will be here in a week or so.

I was told they don't get shipments in on Sundays.

That's what I've heard as well, but both stores said they will have more (specifically mentioning the 5S) tomorrow too. Normal operating hours (open at 11) but it probably would be a good idea to get there around 9:00....

I just walked up to our local Apple store minutes ago and walked out with two. They have a guy out front handing out cards for all size/carriers. Plenty of stock here on day two.

At least 30 people picked up phones while I was there at noon saturday.

There's stock at the Manhattan Beach, CA store. Am there now. Mostly verizon.
I had an online order in the Apple store for the AT&T 5S 64GB Space Gray. I wanted to have a case ready when the phone arrived so I went to the AT&T store on Sepulveda and Manhattan Beach Blvd Friday around 7PM. They didn't have the case I wanted but it turned out had several phones of the model I did want. They said if I cancelled my Apple online order they could immediately get my eligibility back and sell me a phone. I thought it took 2 days to get eligibility back but they said they upgraded their system and it now happens immediately. It did and I walked out with the phone.

They have 5S's in stock at the Howell, NJ Verizon store. Just walked out with a 32GB white 5S, no preorder or waiting in line.

Absolutely. Never trust what they tell you! They really don't want to sell any phones, so they will purposely discourage anyone from coming in to buy one.

Actually, they have thousands of phones in stock.

You'll find out when you het to the store what a bunch of liars they are!

 <-----Please note...irony!

Post of the day!

LMAO!

Got my iphone 5s from apple store shore hills.. She said that they initially was sold out.. Because they didn't have enough "reservation cards".. So after all those were sold. They recounted their inventory and sold the rest that evening

I actually bought 2 5s today. Tmobile said they had a couple. 3 tmobile stores I called told me they had a few left this morning.

Just so epic!!!

Being as my nearest Apple store is in the university district, I didn't hold out much hope of them not having a huge line and selling out fast.

I just ordered from Apple.

Around noon today I waited about 20 minutes in line at an Apple mall store and walked out with a 64gb Space Gray for AT&T. No problemo. ;)

I was out of town all day yesterday and could not line up or get to any store early enough to get a phone. I'm in MN. I went into the Mall of America at about 9pm. AT&T, Apple, and Bestbuy are all out of AT&T phones. Figuring Apple would get daily shipments, I stopped back by the Apple store in the Mall of America this morning about an hour before opening. One Apple employee outside passing out tickets. He told me they had 0 AT&T phones and only a few Sprint and VZW phones.

Taking my chances and determined to find a 32gb Gray AT&T model phone today, I drove across the city to the Rosedale Mall store. Got in line right at opening at 10am. An Apple employee here was also passing out tickets. At this time, this store had only Gray phone. They had a few 32gb AT&T phones in stock and quickly ran through those and only had 64gb left shortly after.

The point of all this is that Yes, the Apple stores are getting very frequent deliveries of new stock. Anyone hoping to get at least a Gray option should be able to do so fairly quickly if they keep hitting the Apple store around opening. Sure beats waiting until October for one to ship. :apple:

Sellouts everywhere in Boston or just 64GB models at ATT. Found one at radioshack though, said they got 9 total.

apple is going to update the apple store app to show store inventory of iPhones soon, that would be more reliable than asking a specialist.

Of course a lot can happen between the time you check your phone and get to the store.

EDIT: several sprint stores in my area have the 5S in stock. Seeing how sprint has nothing more than measily slow 3G service here, i'm not surprised nobody is rushing to get a sprint model

Just found a gold 32 and 64 both on verizon and att. So they are out there. Just very few and they will go fast.

All of you guys claiming that you can just walk into an Apple Store and pick up an iPhone 5s must live in the middle of no where. All of NYC is practically dry right now.

Same here (Lincoln Park store in Chicago this afternoon). They had no "T-Mobile" phones, and only 64GB space gray AT&T models, but they had smaller capacity Verizon phones in space gray and white.

And since the Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile phones all have the same GSM and LTE band support, you can buy a Verizon device only and use it on AT&T or T-Mobile. Those in the know were doing just that and the associates were selling them.
