No matter how much you say this or that is not good enough in the current version of the iPad and the high price that goes along with it, the numbers speak for themselves and that is all Apple is concerned about.
3 MILLION People have purchased the iPad - They paid the price and truthfully not a whole lot of complaints! As long as that does not change. iPads are GOLDEN! LOL

There are always going to be naysayers of new devices, or those that will never be satisfied with the current offering. Fact of the matter is, the OP is in the minority, as the iPad has NO problems selling all by its lonesome, to the point of ridiculous inventory shortages.
Regarding your concerns, first off, you don't own an iPad. Sounds like you just take the bad reporting out of the forum and use it to create an opinion, which is a mistake and makes you look like a nob.
I agree that the amount of RAM could have been increased with little to no effort from Apple. Chaps my A$$ as well. Different screen sizes would have been nice as well to fill in the portability a little better. However, I've only had one issue with memory, and that was 'probably' related to the program I was using. My iPad does not crash with 4 tabs open in its stock configuration. Its actually very fast in practically everything that it does. Besides, with so many 'jailbroken' iPads, if a complaint did occur, it would be harder than ever to quantify whether an issue is actually iPad or software related. Your 3GS does not have the same processor, architecture, or anything else as the iPad, so to compare on RAM alone, is a bit idiotic.
Much of the stuff that you are crowing about may come in future upgrades if the demand warrants it, but you are a little unrealistic. For example, USB 3? Most of the most expensive laptops don't have USB 3.0 installed, so lol, why would this be an expectation of a consumption device like the iPad? Another one that you mention is the screen resolution. Anandtech's review stated that indoors, the "display is almost flawless". And I would agree. 720p looks gorgeous on the screen, so again, it sounds like a baseless comment from someone who doesn't own one. Finally, in regard to CPU power, sure, I'd give the one up to a netbook processor in terms of a couple of seconds here and there (you make it sound like there is some kind of VAST waiting period between the two which is untrue). However, in terms of convenience and portability, you can keep the netbook, which is where the iPads strength is in comparison. By the time you break out your netbook, fire it up, and look up what you are in need of, I've already logged in and out of the iPad with the same info. 'Instant On' with the iPad is amazing, and takes away any instant time savings that you think that Netbook might bring. Again, a second here and there isn't of importance to me in every day browsing, etc. Then there is the app store...well, that doesn't apply to the net/notebook, so disregard.
Point of the story is that you need to stay focused as to what the iPad is, and appreciate it for that. It's a consumption device primarily, and a very basic creation device secondly. Due to this fact, the iPad is not a notebook replacement. It's a luxury enhancement to the gear you already have. Certainly not a 'must have' versus a 'must want'. You speak about how it should be very sleek and flush, yet you start throwing in the fact that it should have dual analog sticks/nubs? lol...WTF?? Sounds like you don't know what you want either. Easy to do when you don't own the device.
Its certainly not perfected in its first evolution, but will most certainly improve over time to what the consumer wants to see in an upgrade. I'd say that it has had a stellar first showing when viewing on sheer demand.
If you want to take the time to write this drawn out note about the failures of the iPad, a good piece of advice would be to at least buy one and use it first.
