There actually is info out there that the Battery Drain Problem may be getting caused by Over The Air Updates. Use ITunes instead and you will be fine.

lol all my updates have been ota.

By the way, there are other Over Seas providers for the IPhone 5 and IPad as well that use Models 1428, 1454, and 1459 as well. I was just mentioning the ones sold on Apple.com for the U.S.A.

1454 = IPad Mini. 1459 = IPad. Both of those are the GSM Models.

I'm thinking just using a back screen protector.

You mean a screen protector on the front glass? That's all you need, unless you like to drop phones on the cement/pavement, then you might want a case, just in case.

I have zagg invisible shield HD front/back of my black iPhone 5, but, I probably could have gotten away with just the front screen protector. There scratches in the tiny beveled edge, but, it's not a big deal, it doesn't scratch easy all over like some people were claiming when it first sold.

I still luv my iPhone 5, runs iOS 7 beta well, not upgrading this year. There's no hurry though, I think $99 will be the regular price for 16GB iPhone 5 here in a couple weeks. (I boycott walmart myself).

This is my guess for new iPhone lineup:

iPhone 5C 16GB only $50 on contract? 6 Colors
iPhone 5 32/64 GB only $99/199 on contract? White/Black
iPhone 5S 32/64/128 GB $199/299/399 on contract? Graphite/Champagne/White (fingerprint sensor here only)

OR

the 5C might be 8 GB only, iPhone 5 starting at 16 GB

Hold off for 5 more days and then make your decision after you see the announcement.

You mean 6 more days don't you, it's only the 4th Early A.M. here in the U.S.A.

It's currently 07:57 Cupertino Time on September 4th!

That's with Daylight Savings Time = On by the way.

You only have less than a week to wait. I wouldn't use your upgrade now, would be pretty silly.

correct, that would be silly, that's why I 'm currently back @ 6.1.3/6.1.4 just in case it comes out to the General Public on the 10th so I could OTA if possible.

----------

If not then I will use my Samsung Galaxy S4 to get the update, (yes Android Phones like the S4 can Download .DMG Files where as the IPhone 5 Can NOT Download them)! :)

----------

Then I will use Starbucks Free WIFI to Install the GM Seed.

Wal-Mart 16 gig iPhone 5 is $98 with 2 year contract. I'm thinking about upgrading from a iPhone 4 to 5 at that price. I have to make up my mind fast. I want a phone that will still be fast for at least two years. I seen some people say iOS 7 is slow on 5? Is that because its beta or because the processer is a little on the slow side. The iPhone 5S is maybe going to have a 30% faster processor will that make a big difference then the 5's? I don't really care about the touch sensor (unless its amazing) or duel LED and different colors.

Don't bother. You should wait at least for iphone 7 before moving to ios7.

Thanks! But I got an iPhone 5 today! (black) a big improvement over the iPhone 4.

When closing apps and stuff on iOS 7 a integrated animation or is it because I was running a iPhone 4 which Is slow on iOS 7?

Yes, the GM will come out the day the next iPhone is revealed. We can't say if it will be the same as the public release, but in the past 2 years, GMs have been the same as the release versions.

So is the general wisdom the following timeline?

Sept 10th - 5s/c announced & GM released
Sept 13th - 5s/c preorder & iOS 7 made ready for public consumption
Sept 20th - 5s/c in stores/ship

The animations themselves are long, on any device they take a surprisingly long amount of time to complete. I'd be surprised if they don't shorten the time in the next beta as it's started to gain attention

You mean in the GM/final release. Hopefully that is the case.

Sounds like there tends to be 7 betas before GA, so ideally it'd be updated in a last minute beta before Sept 10. :p Otherwise yea, final release. Need to be fixed. It can make really simple tasks (like opening my clock to set an alarm before going to sleep) take much longer than it should
