My friend got her iphone4 with the outerbox in complete tatters, the inner apple box was destroyed, and both sides of the glass was shattered.

Needless to say, she wasn't so happy.

There are good fedex employees and crappy ones - just like any other job. There are also mishaps in shipping.

**** happens.

You get a broken one - call apple and ull get a replacement. (in several weeks)

Safe, yes... Will it get to you? Eventually, and will it be ontime NO... The last 3 things I have had shipped Fed Ex (including my iPhone) none were ontime or in the case of my iPhone it was sent to New York instead of Texas. And yes all the info address, name, zip code, etc were correct... Instead of getting it a day early it was a day late. Long story short I'd trust the USPS or for that matter the Pony Express before Fed Ex...

I'd say Apple's packaging is pretty beefy. FedEx would have to do something pretty extreme to get through it to damage what's inside.

They are professionals so I'm sure they have a good idea of what they are doing.

My first iP4 was shipped via Fedex with no problems at all. The brown box that it was shipped in, didn't have one dent in it.
