Cool. It is definitely a great device. I just don't think I would use the data enough to justify paying for it month to month. Even with all the apps and what not.
That's what I thought when, around Thanksgiving, I sold my iPhone and went back to using a Razr. Lasted a week. Expensive mistake, with convoluted rearranging of phones and lines on my family plan to get me set up with a new iPhone at the subsidized price. It's still true that I don't use it as much as I feel like I should to justify paying for the data plan, but I learned to look at it this way:
Figure the data plan costs $30 a month, which if applied to data downloaded at "a la carte" prices ($0.01/KB) would pay for around 3MB. You'll download far more than 3MB of data a month with just minor puttering around. And you will putter. Oh, yes, you will putter. The folks here who say the iPhone kind of becomes a way of life are correct. Even when I hate it, for various reasons, I love it. Kinda like being married.
