Can you tell the difference between a stainless steel Apple Watch and an aluminum one? I'd say yes..[doublepost=1542124733][/doublepost]
If you weren't told the band was stainless steel, you would not have known the difference.

I can also tell the difference between my Corvette and my Cruze. Can you tell the difference between a stainless steel Apple Watch and an aluminum one? I'd say yes..

Give me a lighter aluminium Apple Watch any day of the week!
If you've ever had an iPhone X or XS, the difference in hand between the stainless and the aluminum on the other phones is possibly more striking than the difference between a couple of Chevys.I can also tell the difference between my Corvette and my Cruze.
From what I’ve seen the aluminium bands on iPhones seem more scratch resistant than the coating on the stainless used on the X and XS series. We’ve had a few threads here with the Space Grey coating wearing off the SS and micro scratches on the White version. I’ve always found the Aluminium pretty durable. My Apple Watch is 19 months old now too with no scratches. With phones as you say they are often in cases anyway.Weight & scratch/fingerprint resistance are my main concerns when it comes to the metal in a smartphone.
But most of the metal's covered by either my case or paint anyway, so it's more about the coating resisting scratches/fingerprints I guess.

If YOU ever owned a Corvette or for that matter would know one if you saw it and had ANY idea what a Chevy Cruze was, you'd realize that your post is the most absurd on this entire forum in a long time. Try googling both cars and get back to us here.

I bought 2 new last summer,an EgoBoost and a GT w/Perf Pkg. Both are gone as I upgraded. Yours is pretty.Car analogies are never very good in my opinion and often Over-used for comparison sake, especially with tech . But the difference is substantial between the surgical stainless bands and aluminum bands, both have their advantages in terms of aesthetics, but I think the stainless bands provide a better ‘Grip’ in the hand and generally do feel better.
Oh, speaking of car’s, my mean 5.0 says hi to your Vette’:
