Eventually. Apple will no longer produce iPhones with a home button.
Then I will keep my 6S for a while.

Use it ‘til it dies.
Or you could get the 8 and use that for a while. I'm sure Apple will continue to have a phone with the home button but any new models likely won't.Then I will keep my 6S for a while.

The way you’re talking you’d think that Apple were the first to do facial recognition.
Not sure how or why anyone would need to ask that question after 3 weeks, dozens of threads, and thousands of posts discussing the iPhone X.Is it worth it? Personally I like the home button. I do not like faceid and prefer thumb ID when paying via Apple Pay.
I hope it is. I will be disappointed if it’s no better than the one on the note 8. My iPhone X is coming in the next week.It may not have been the first, but is revolutionary in the way it is implemented and the technology it employs.
Android Central's review put it far ahead of Samsungs facial recognition. No slam on the phones, just face ID.

Well I’ll be keeping it either way. I could never use an android phone as my daily driver and I’ve found that I’m not really using the note enough to have it as a secondary phone.Hope you enjoy it-----
. If you love touchID then looks like you’ll be sticking with old tech for awhile.
In a few years the home button will be thought of as the iPod classic click wheel. That is, the functionality of both were highly responsible for the success and ease of use of each product but no one will miss it.What I am afraid of is Apple in the future no longer producing iPhones with home buttons.
No phone is worth $1,000 but that’s what it takes to get the best and this phone is the best.
You’re right they won’t beWhat I am afraid of is Apple in the future no longer producing iPhones with home buttons.
To be fair I think the Note 8 is over priced as well.
No I know, it's £999 for the 64GB version, so it's not £1000. Still, is £700 (sorry, £699, let's be accurate) good for a 64GB iPhone 8 in relative terms? If you're the sort of person who thinks £699 is fine but £999 is too much, perhaps you should reconsider your financial position and buy one of the Chinese knock-offs. If you think £699 is too much, ditto. It’s good but certainly isn’t £1000 good.

It makes me feel that it's like a kit car. Looks really nice but if it's build on top of a mediocre chassis and engine it's never going to be nice to drive, though everyone will comment on how nice it looks. I sent my iPhone X back for refund this morning. My reason is going to be unpopular on here, but I couldn't believe how bad iOS is. It's like it has been built for a public kiosk where the end user is only allowed to do certain things. I was coming from Android Oreo and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. The relief I felt when the phone was deposited with an Apple rep in the store was huge!
iPhone X is worth it every penny. It is a phenomenal phone and the best iPhone in the iPhone history to date. The design is magnificent and the technology within it is superb. Is it worth it? Personally I like the home button. I do not like faceid and prefer thumb ID when paying via Apple Pay.
