the mbp will have a better screen, better battery, card reader, and a bit faster than white macbook, it's up to you..

Exactly, I agree completely and also agree with airplaneman re future-proofing and clyde2801 re refurbs if finance is an issue; with a refurb you get a machine that is new, comes with all of Apple's warranties and has been individually tested and tried.

I have one - a 15" - and I love it; it is easily the best computer I have ever owned. As most of my work world (actually, all of my work worlds) use Word, I have Office for Mac on it and cannot recommend it enough.

hmmm actually having second thoughts now... because i already have an imac and don't know if there's actually any point getting a mbp now because i don't really take my laptop out much. if i got one it would be used for getting taken away on holiday or taken from upstairs to downstairs...

As an owner of 6 MacBooks/Airs/Pros in the past year, I strongly urge everyone to avoid the Air. Stick with the MBPs.

And as a present owner of an Air, I highly recommend it
