I played with the mouse at a nearby bestbuy.

While I was not to review tracking/usage/ergonomics at a very stringent level, I found it to be a nice mouse. It fit nicely in my hand and the usage was great.

With that said, I was on sitting up high on a stool and not really in positioned to how I usually sit, i.e., ergonomics.

I was and am a little temped for this puppy. I'm not sure how compatible it is, with Linux and how much work it might be to get it to work, so I'll wait and see.

My 3.5 year old girls were able to use the mouse and it didn't trip them up too much. I think its probably not a wise idea to have a wireless peripherals with such young ones - they pick them up and put and play with them in another room. So if I get a new iMac, I'd probably replace the keyboard and mouse.

To bad apple doesn't offer this in a tailed version.

It'd probably work in Linux as a normal Bluetooth mouse but the multitouch features would be disabled without installation of drivers.

I've tried and really like the mouse except for the lack of a third and fourth button which is really no big deal for me. I have a suggestion for Apple. Since the mouse can sense 2 finger swipes, how about a firmware upgrade to sense a 2 finger click? For example; a 2 finger click on the left for expose and a 2 finger click on the right for dashboard. Of course, they should be programmable.

I tried out the Magic Mouse for awhile at the Apple store and on my mom's new iMac and it was not that great. First thing you notice is how nice it looks, much better looking than the Mighty Mouse. However the mouse is so low profile that your hand never gets a good grip on it. You have to position your hand in a way that does not make your wrist feel comfortable. My biggest gripe is that it is just not as good as the multi-touch trackpad on the Macbook/Macbook Pro. You can simply do more with the trackpad and wish Apple would have incorporated all the features into the mouse. I would love to see Apple make an external keyboard with a multi-touch trackpad built in.

Had a quick go today in store. I really like the feel of it, the back and forward swiping for webpages is superb (though the back/forward buttons on my old MS was good enough). Will I buy it?

No, after a few days in store the battery is down to 80% so I guess it's still not great in terms of battery life. I use the side buttons on my current MM (wired) to view spaces. Though the latter I could live without if it was a wired mouse.

27" iMac looked nice though (albeit a bit fat at the back!)
