I tried the mouse in store, and disliked it.

I moved to the trackpad and have not looked back, I pair the trackpad with a Logitech Performance MX and have the best of both worlds.
Almost £60 for a Magic Mouse... my Powermac G5 was £150 off eBay, madness :p

I love my Magic Mouse.

I have a 2008 or 2009 iMac and previously had the Mighty Mouse. The nipple on the Mighty would get clogged so often and when i got a new job, they had the Magic Mouse.

Loved it. I decided to upgrade to Lion and get the Magic Mouse and use the NEW way of scrolling (somewhat backward but totally used to it now).

I really love the look and feel of it. And as a graphic designer I use the mouse a lot, and ergonomics are fine if you aren't too lazy and can not simply rest your arm/hand on it.

I bought mine on Overstock for a little less than $50. LOVE it.

(my opinions noted above)

It works fine but I needed to download an application (Better Touch Tool) to make the mouse have features that I feel it should have been included with. I would certainly use one in store before buying one. The ergonomics are love-it or hate-it.

to OP, if you decide to get it (or already bought) make sure you download this too. I got one with my iMac and really didn't like it till I got that download. Gives you better gestures

I hated the magic mouse. I have both an apple trackpad and a Logitech corded mouse on my iMac. Mouse preferences are very subjective and it's really a question of personal taste. My iMac came with the magic mouse, but I gave up on it and the magic mouse sits in the parts box.
