I have a chance to get an older ATI MBP at a steal, and was wondering how much lighter those machines were over the new unibody ones. Does anyone know?

Old MBP: 5.6 lbs, 2.54 kg, if you mean the ATI 15" model with 2.16 or 2.33 GHz (10/2006 - 6/2007)
New Unibody 15" MBP: 5.5 lbs, 2.49 kg

50 grams lighter, like two and a half correctional glasses.

they are lighter. I was concerned first about weight too but after a week you seriously dont even notice!! I was coming from a MB and i cant tell the difference whatsoever!!!!!!
if you are a serious computer person then youll want the new UBMBP for sure!! If you just do email, web get the used one. good luck!
