Yes, Roddenberry was trying to say that the U.S. should be more open-minded. But the point is he was always talking about the U.S.

Perhaps but the Earth as a whole could benefit from such a way of life. Corruption and Poverty being one of most important things to solve.

"The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in our lives. We work to better ourselves, and the rest of humanity."

If only....

I'm lost as to what is offensive. I'm pretty sure that most scientists would agree that the lunar landing has been the furthest human exploration of space in history. It would make sense to focus on the events that led to it. For all the work that other nations did in getting to that point, development of NASA and its work was primarily an American endeavor. Throw in English is the unofficial language of the US, and you will want English speakers.

Actually the work that lead to the moon landing was primarily a German achievement. Most of the scientists working for NASA had been pinched from the Nazis and the US conviently forget that many had been ardent Nazis (and probably still were) using slave labour and the like.

Next you'll be saying that the Americans invented radar or the jet engine .

Always laughed at that. Sounds a lot like Communism :D

No its marxism, as already stated.

Thats the kind of propoganda american kids heads are filled with, the elitest attitude that american invented everything etc.

Anyone ever see the movie entitled "Thank you for smoking" ? The man who was the man actor in the movie's job was a Lobbyest, and i picked up on some important things he stated in there:
1) He said that when debating the most important to remember is not to always be right, just to prove the opponent wrong, you can be right or wrong but you prove them wrong and your always right!
2) His son had an assignment which his school entitled "Why america is the best country in the world", his dad said to his son when asked for help, "Is it?" and went on to state that you should always question everything and never believe all that your told, his sons assignment developed to asking at that point the validity of the question.

Good stuff though.
