Ive had to send mine off today for repair and I feel lost without it.

But my biggest gripe about the iPhone has to be the redirection to WAP/Mobile sites, yes i know this can sometimes be helpful but most of the time i want to see the normal site.

Perhaps an option in Safari settings that can disable this. Because to me this just defeats the object of having a phone that can browse the whole internet.

That's one thing I hate, isn't there a way to change it, those Mobile sites are just useless.

I can't see the day coming anytime in the next year or two when i'll want to change my iPhone for any other handset ...

I'm not quite as "in love" with the iPhone as I used to be, mostly because of dropped calls. However, while I've never used any other modern (Read: smart) phones, I have a hard time imagining life without my iPhone. Before the iPhone, my cell phone was the only gadget I carried, and I only used it for voice calls. Now, my iPhone is still the only gadget I carry, but I use it for voice calls, email, web browsing, calendar functionality, and a half dozen other things.

Also, I should mention that while I hate the way syncing works with the new iPhone firmware (that is to say, I hate that it frequently doesn't sync while the iPhone is asleep), and I recognize why it ended up being a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as the new iPhone, MobileMe is amazing. It both improved my computer using experience and breathed new life into my iPhone.

I will as soon as one is invented. :D

i had a couple of those ...from different manufacturers...

but the never played music for me, never let me sync properly, never let me browse through my pics easily , never let me learn music theory on them, never let me check my email, and never let me go on the internet... you get the point :)

The hype wore off for me eventually.

After a lot of problems with 1st gen iPhone, and a forced upgrade to 3G courtesy of O2 - I've sold my iPhone and convinced O2 to keep my price plan and activate BlackBerry Unlimited free of charge onto my line.

The iPhone for me was problematic with texting, and the fact Push would never operate at all. I was having dropped calls at a truely insane level - 37%. Even after a number of exchanged the small recurring problems I would experience every day were just ridiculous. Coupling that with the fact I loved my BB, and BBM - I was more than happy to return.

I honestly think Apple have an amazing product here - but it's not for everyone. And that's the beauty of the tech world - there is something for everyone. I think due to demand they might have rushed a certain percentage of their items, and even software updates, and this could have caused people like me to become frustrated. Overall, the BB just suits me better, and having a larger capacity iPod is always something I favour.

I bought an unlocked BlackBerry Curve in red the other day and haven't been happier.

I'll be in the market for 32GB iPod touch in a few weeks.

I'm not enamored with my iPhone the way that I was when I first received it but it has been the same with every cellular phone I've had up to this point.

I have the original iPhone and will probably upgrade to the next one should there be one. I want to experience the "new" feeling all over again.

MMS will eventually come. I don't really know too many people who forward pictures. I know I'd rather get it in an email than pay extra money for MMS. (You know ATT would charge more money.)

Why would they charge more money for it??? They don't on their regular plans.

I think there's a widespread misconception that AT&T is gouging iPhone users worse than anyone else. The truth is they brought the iPhone plans in-line with their other smartphone plans rather than let it keep the cheaper EDGE plan. If you have unlimited texting on the device you shouldn't be charged extra for MMS.

I've had an iPod touch from November '07 to February, an iPhone since then and an iPhone 3G since August.
I sold the previous two, to finance the next device, so I've loved mobile OSX for over a year, and there's no sign of it abating any time soon.

It's a good idea. I think desktop Safari can change its User Agent string that it sends up. Even the coming IE6 mobile for WM has an option to switch its Agent string so websites won't know it's a mobile device.

Love the phone? Absolutely

Love the apps? Certainly

Not having MMS? Horrible!

No video? Eh, sucks

No forwarding? Huge pain sometimes

For those of you who are leaving the iPhone and going to something else, I think it's great (seriously). If you are having that many problems, and the device is not working for you, then you absolutely should switch.

But for me, I'm glad that I'm not having any issues. In the last 3 months, my iPhone has only frozen up once and I've had two dropped calls (the other person was on a cell too, so who knows if it was them or I). Functionality is awesome and it works for me.

To each his own...

i look at the iPhone as a tool. And its a very very useful tool in my hands. its also a very fun tool at that. so I do not think its much as a novelty for me. Its a tool that i have on me almost all the time. And I use it to the fullest.

Granted there are downsides to the iPhone but I can deal with them...

I expected much more aggressive updates. Looking back over 18 months of ownership very little speculation has come to fruition. Heck a bunch of 0.1 updates were bug fixes exclusively.

ive really stopped playing games on my phone unless im bored somewhere or a passenger in the car. i mostly use it now to check up on emails and help improve productivity. the maps also helps a lot when i'm going somewhere i havent been before, or finding routes to go around traffic. as someone said before, i use it more as a tool now then a toy.

what do you mean..........you saying that latest update that added japanese emoticons isn't "aggressive" enough for you!?

way to go apple......way....to.....go.....

I've had the chance to use mine full time for 3 months and I'm highly disappointed. Never does it check mail automatically, I have it set for 15 minutes but I'm always manually checking because it hardly ever does it on it's own. The reception is terrible. I was in Wales this past weekend and had to drive around trying to find a signal. Others were having no problems chatting on their cheap little mobiles.

I'll be quite happy to return to my LG VX8700 in the states. I also haven't found an interface that lags so much since the original firmware on my Motorola V3m. I know I'm comparing apples(he he!) to oranges. I'm as Apple crazy as the next person but the iPhone just doesn't do it for me.
