Is the 'Security Bit' version of the Torx T8 required for Mac Mini?

Can anyone confirm whether I need the 'Security Bit' version of the Torx T8 driver when taking apart the Mac mini 2012? The fixit guide seems to specify this tool whereas I can only find the standard Torx T8 online in the UK.

no my 2012 mini uses non security

The kit from OWC uses normal torx and was compatible with my 2012 mini.
