Apple refurb store barely has anything and the Amazon Apple Storefront has no in stock at all. I also notice even a small configuration change on the Apple store blows out the delivery by a week, and even the base M3 Ultra is five days shipping now. Is this just due to the ram shortage or is something else going on?

I don't think so - maybe the issue with nand chips and memory are creating supply issues, but I can't see the Studio getting M5 that quickly. I always thought it was one of the last to get updated - after all MacBooks and the Mac mini.....

This somehow doesn't seem legit:

(this was in a search result, ymmv...)

The base M4 Max and M3 Ultra are available at my local Apple Store. I'm not aware of shortages, and, if Microcenter is discounting them by $200-$400, I assume that they are still available.

i was trying to customise an unbinned M4 Max with 64GB/1TB [not stock] and they said delivery date is in 1 week from day of customising so i don't think so yet...

would keep an eye out personally for M5/6 Max Mac Studio so i can fully retire my desktop and abuse this [as its heard to never run fans on high loads] - which my desktop does

my m4 max MacBook pro 16'' still runs fans and drops battery swift due to adobe... but thankfully the fast charging gets it back in an hour or can leave it plugged.

Pretty sure it's photoshopped. That isn't the type face or font that the real website uses.

On the day I posted that screenshot in this thread, it was from web search using DuckDuckGo for "Mac Studio M4". I can't recall now whether it was in the list of regular results or (more likely) from the results using DuckDuckGo's "Shopping" tab.

You're right though, going to the actual website, it's nothing like the screenshot I posted. I want to say that other site had "shine" somewhere in it's web address, but doesn't show up in a search now. Strange.

just checked refurbished no studios m3 ultra or m4

there is a mini m4 pro cup with 24gb ram and 8gb ssd. Refurbs have been slow but this does happen time to time

I'm ready to trade in my M4 Pro Mini for a Studio Max, but now I think I'll wait for the M5 version. Sounds like it may be here by June or so.

in Aus Refurb apple store only one m4 max... but its the binned version lol pass, not many options, maybe i see 2x m3 ultra but thats overkill. the M4 max unbinned mbp was already too powerful
that said the edu store match refurb pricing which can be done... easily lol at any time

There have never been many refurbished Studio M4s in the Store. A week or so ago, there were some older Ultras worth 3000+ USD. Today, there is one M4 max for 1700 USD.

The Studio M4 seems to have a low return rate. I will probably wait for an M6, but honestly, the M4 has been more than I need, and I am thoroughly pleased with it.

slightly off topic. I snagged a mini m4 with 32gb ram and a 2tb ssd.
from the refurbished mac mini section. happy to get it. the veteran and refurbished combined is a very good price.
