The secret as to why the Ultra isn't "too big" in practice may well be the band/strap design. The bands are quite wide and at least the Ocean and Trail bands are very stable on the wrist. And they are much more comfortable to wear than Garmin's standard bands. I think Apple's convex optical sensor design also helps.

However I think they should add a smaller model; my 162mm wrist is near the minimum of what works.

Apple definitely need to add a smaller model at a lower price point for sure. ‘Not too big’ is highly subjective to the individual I would say with the current model.
 
I think it is... Love mine and having big hands/wrists, it suits my size to a tee

The other watches are far too small...

I use Ultimal straps and they're superb; make the watch look more rugged, more so when it's in its black Ringke case ;)
 
My Series 4 was $749. This thing is way better and it's only $799. It's a no brainer for my next upgrade this autumn. Although I bet they raise the price. Still getting it. I don't upgrade very often.
