Uhm, then why don't you buy a second MBP? Or a Mac Pro? I'm serious, if CPU speed is such a bottleneck for you, then a second MBP would at least give you some 50% more productivity.

If mobility is an issue, then there are other options - e.g. a Mac Pro farm at home ;)

When did i say it was a bottleneck - why jump to conclusions? To me it means more money and more time not working, having the 2.5 vs something else. I have a 12 core Mac Pro in the studio. At home the MBP is a stand-in for the yet to be updated Mac Pro and will be relegated to solely a digital capture, on location device once the MP is updated. Right now, to be honest. The MBP is faster than the old Mac Pro it replaced.
